Come on Antz, technically you are correct but how many of us drive at speeds high enough to get aquaplanned. In rainy season most ot the average bikers drive slow. So infact a little less pressure will be more benefecial to have a bigger contact patch.

Fork Oil, Air Filter, Brake-Shoe & Spark Plug etc

In Short : How do you take care of your bike ? I just learned how much important it is to lube the chain every 500 km and clean it every 1000k and posted my work here

In Detail: I went to 2nd service of my Bajaj 100B, and they gave me the some kind of info. Images are attached here. Rode for 5000 km so far. I know brake shoe will go by 15K. What about rest of the things they are asking to replace/change:
          1. Fork Oil every 10K
          2. Air Filter, Fuel Cock Filter every 15K
          3. Spark Plug ever 20K

How much of that is true by your experience ?

            Approved and merged!

            In my experience:
            1. Fork oil - 25k km or 2 years whichever is earlier. If you frequent bad roads, reduce this term accordingly.
            2. Air filter - 10k km. If you frequent dusty roads, reduce this term.
            3. Spark plug - 15k km. Use the replaced one as spare.
            4. Brake oil (disc brakes) - every 1.5-2 years.
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

Monsoon Season Maintenance of New motorcycle

              Hello everyone,
I am new Pulsar 150 dtsi (2017) owner..or soon to be owner will get my delivery tomorrow..There are a few question in my mind which led me to bhp.

Firstly this my first bike and I'm a regular engineering student from mumbai..and this is the monsoon season..So I would like to know how to maintain my bike in the legendary monsoons of mumbai
There are a number of questions in my mind..
1.Run-in period...what speed should I ride at and what rpm..should the speed be constant or should it wary...?..
2.What parts of the bike should be covered and how?
3.Are riding gears necessary as i will be riding around 26km a day..i.e 13km each..So what riding gears should be brought..and approximately at what cost?
4.How frequently should the bike be washed and how?
5.Lubrication..how should the parts be lubricated to avoid rusting and drying..?

Right now i could only think about the above questions..
Please do add your opinions and advise...
              Thank you.
