I believe since it's a synthetic oil, it would easily last 4-5k kilometeres, if not more.

As per the CBZ guy here you can change it after 8-9k kms at normal city riding conditions...which means for tourers it should be 6k atleast...

Will go for it at my next service...lets see
              ...Back to HIBERNATE mode...

For a bike like p200/p220...i think this oil will hardly do around 3000kms....just because of the grade factor
But for bikes like ZMA, unicorn, tvs and other 150cc segment this oil will work wonders...
                its all about CC...

for smaller commuters it can last 8-10k kms easily. I believe the oil wouldn't loose its character below 5K even in the Pee2x0's....

Remember, the most important reason why the oil looses its property is the heat... yes, the Pee2x0's produce too much heat... but when the engine oil is able to do better heat management, like how the synth's are formulated, you cannot decide stuff based only on the oil grade...

I have noticed that the Pee2x0's running on Motul 300v FL's engines heat up leser than the ones running on regular oil.

Bajaj increased the engine oil grade to 20w50 for the Pee2x0's because they were unable to reduce the engine heat... for that matter, even the 180... where as the ZMA is running great even on 10w30!!!

Now does anyone else have something to add to this?

Yes, one thing I would like to ask ... I use Castrol 20W50 in my P180 ...

Can I change to Motul now? I heard it is not safe to change brands ...

as of now, even after 20W50, my P180 heats up a lot ... It can't really tolerate some serious 6.5+ krpm riding ...

Samarth, shall we assume that Castrol 20w50 = Castrol Active4T Extra?

Also, Motul = Motul 5100 ?w50 semi synth?

There was a lengthy discussion abt this a few pages ago.

Also, if you are changing for a better oil, I don't think think what's so unsafe about changing to a different oil.... as such, the oil won't be the same when u pour it in and when u drain it!!!

Castrol Power 1 Racing in P220

I have used it in P220 and it lasted for 5.5-6K.. Was really impressed with the oil.. But since the bike had a minor leak in the head and I suspect the oil to be the culprit.. I changed it to Motul 5100.. But I will say Castrol Power 1 Racing is any day better than anything else I have used.. Since I havent used Motul 300.. I cant really compare..

Almost 800 kms i myself curious about the state of the oil at 1000kms will drain at 1000kms and post some snaps in this thread.

P.S : Till date its performing very good engine revs are way better than

If the oil is good why do u want to drain it at 1K??? You can take pics of the oil color on the stick...
