Guys, I've been searching for this type of info for many days and finally managed to get it... I just don't understand why Castrol does not mention technical information in their data sheets / websites, etc... generally they don't even mention the grade on the oil bottle!!!
Took the info from Power 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 (2241)
But then, though the site mentions as the latest update to be pretty recent, the bottles we saw in shops were JASO MA2 & API SL!!!

Hi all,
I've a TVS Fiero F2(Disc) 2003 model. Till now i've been servicing at TVS service centers and thereby using Mineral oils only. My bike has run 47.5K Kms.
I would like to shift to Synthetic oil. Please do suggest me a good synthetic oil and also how much liters of oil needs to be put. Is their any oil filters or so to change apart from flushing out the old engine oil? Please advice.
Thanks,
Ramki.

I dunno the grade of oil specified for your bike. If it is XW40, then you can go for castrol racing power1/petronas fully synthetic. If it is XW50 then you can try Motul 300 FL 15W50.Originally posted by ramki067 View PostHi all,

Ramki.
2. That again depends on your bike. Different bikes have their own quantity of oil intake. Ask SVC guyz.

@Ramki, the Fiero needs 1L oil. It's recommended should be 20w40 (as seen used at the service centers but never checked the manual).
You can happily use the Castrol Power1 Racing (Rs750) or Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000 (~Rs450)... or for that matter any ??W40 Fully Synthetic Oils. Even Motul 300vFL (~Rs 800)is available in ??W40 grade at some places.
Since you said ur bike is run 47K kms, I expect the internals to be decently worn out. On such bikes, oils with higher viscosity do work well... and resist the E.Oil leaking into the head or Petrol vapours leaking into the engine pretty well! So, even the Motul 300v FL 15W50 can be a pretty good choice for u
AGIP Racing 5W40 Fully Synthetic is available in Bangalore for abt Rs 600. Some xBhp members using it in their fieros.
