  • [xBhp Universal Thread]: Oil Supplements - Universal Thread

Isn't it important to discuss the oil supplements along with the OIL itself. Let it be fuel additives of engine oil additives.

I have used engine oil supplements quite a number of time but not have been regular. I don't know it's my illusion or fact that I felt some changes in performance for some time.

Just two days back added oil additive from one Wonder Fill, claiming performance improvement and safety of engine. There fuel supplement claims to prove economical too. I'll try this weekend this additives on long ride and will post my experience.

Share your experiences with OIL supplements (fuel and engine oil)...Experts are welcomed to enlighten with there opinion.

My machine has done just 21 K, It's not much still I can sense the decrease in the power so seriously looking for doing something extra for engine...

Have tried NULON...it's economical and worthy, but somehow after putting motul 5100 i don't use any additive
      its all about CC...

I use castrol power1, this time I have put oil additives from wonder fill...
Still need one ride to check the difference in performance...I am not expecting much...but at least something worth the cost of these additives...

hey even i used nulon .. nice .. its feels peppy ..
but i didnt feel such a difference because i changed my sparkplug to NGK and my cables too .. so they overcome the performance showed by nulon ..

Old thread, yet wanted to add. 'Wurth' is really worth. I used it on my Pulsar 150 2004 and the engine was super silent including the gear shift. The problem was I did not get a regular supply of this stuff. Very difficult!!!

I tried dissolving boric acid in warm engine oil, petrol and thinner. Didnt dissolve. Now I dont know whether it would be safe to proceed with the idea.

Please do not experiment with essentials and that may burn a hole in your pocket ;-)

I did try using Boric Acid on my old bike 8 yr old CBZ Star. I mixed 20 gms of boric acid with 40ml 2T oil and it mixed pretty well and then poured it into the engine. I couldnt test it extensively as had to change the oil due to some leaking issues (not because of boric acid), but because of a DIY that i was experimenting with.

I dont think i got any performance improvement after that maybe the gear shifts got smoother. but i have read people saying the effects start coming in after some kms ranging from 50-100 kms.

Now this thing is recommended on older engines that have done some kms like above 30k or so. On New Engines it is not required.

has anyone tried this stuff on bikes with oil filters? does it or will it clog up the oil filter?

                      ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Just like Boric Acid experimentation, the same guy (i think) has also done an experiment of adding acetone with petrol saying it improves the combustion process.

i have been doing this for quite some time now (but not on a regular basis) and IMO i did not find any difference in performance, hence for me it has been a waste of money with no side effects on engine or performance. But it could be possible that it cleans up with carb or reduced carbon deposits? i dont know.

I add 2.5ml of acetone + 5ml of some petrol additive (green color bottle) for every 5 litres.

Re: Oil Supplements - Universal Thread

Ok thats one thing I did not do : try and dissolve it in 2t oil, for the reason that I was too apprehensive about the boric acid clogging my autolube pump and its associated lines. But consider this, if it does mix in 2t oil, then would it be safe for premix? Experienced 2 strokers please respond. I ve read the entire 'boron is good for reducing surface friction' shebang and would like to have smoother innards in my bike.
I dont know.. if boric acid mixed with eng oil does help reducing friction, should it really be used in a wet clutch? I mean after all thats why we have different oils for cars and wet clutch mibikes in the first place isnt it..

Interesting. Last year when I had a Gladiator, a local mechanic suggested me to go with this Wurth/Wuerth 20W40 oil. I tried it and the results did were very smooth initially, but by the 400km mark, I started developing issues engine pinging and like I lost the refined feeling. So I switched back to the tried-and-trusted Gulf. Wuerth/Wurth oils are still available here.
