There might be some water or rust or some other kind of foreign substance in the tank or fuel tap. This creates sludge like substance in carbs. Check for it.

The pulsar lock on the tank has a rubber seal that prevents air and water from entering the tank. It has a channel around the orifice to lead the water through a serious of pipes and holes in the tank away from the petrol side area. Note this rubber is prone to hardening and cracking and water and dust clogs the channel and it overflows with water during rains and washing ...then water enters the tank.
Unfortunately the pulsar tank rubber is non replaceable and you need to change the entire lock set that makes you carry an extra key around:banghead:

Rubber parts do tend to get hard and crack as the time passes by, sometimes water can accumulate in that channel near orfice and that part can get rusted, i hope that hadn't happened to your bike.

No no my bike tank can never get rusted
The bike tank got a dent once, I stripped the entire tank of paint... used a coat of red anti rust, then brown antirust, then filler, then primer, then 2 coats of paint....
After that, I emptied my tank let it dry and poured in a liquid called silicone antirust tank seals. It seals your tank from the inside. It is told to put 100ml and shake the tank around amd pour out the excess, I put in 500 ml and shook the tank in broad sunlight after the tank was already hot.... and poured out the excess. My tank is safe from rust as of now:P

And if a tank is already rusted then what can be done to save the tank, my bikes tank is also catching rust from inside, newer tanks are galvanized but not the older one, so is there any remedy for my tank bro.

Surface rust of a tank is very easy to remove and fix.
The rust on the inside is usually a tank killer. There isnt much you can do without cutting the tank open and welding it again and repainting.
Sandblasting from the inside helps but tanks are made of such thin sheet metal its difficult and can deform a tank.
Try cutting the botton of the tank and cleaning it from the inside then weld and paint it from the bottom. Be sure to get rid of all petrol traces before approaching.

Well Abhishek sir. I need a small clarification about the jetting. Let me explain the results after I did the jetting to my carb. I am using a Suzuki Shogun and carb is vm20. I changed the main jet from 100 to 110 and the pilot jet remained same 20. I didn't find and any power increase in my bike but faced some problems like the bike is taking more air when it is in idle and felt almost like shutting the engine. Air mixture was very high when I started my bike after the full throttle run.

Now I have an idea will my bike gains more power if I change the main jet 110 and pilot 22.5 or 25.

                            Please reply

                            Anand

Well i don't want to cut my tank, because that will ruin the tank because then i have to reweld it, i don't think that any welder in delhi would be having mig welding, plus i have to repaint it, my bike tank paint is very good even after so many years what i was thinking of an electrolysis, or the simple kerosene wash with some old nuts and bolts, the silicone treatment that you are talking what is it pls throw some more info on it.

Silicone cream like substance called tank treatment was available I dont remembr the brand very well costed 130 rs for 100ml. You put it in ypur tank wh shoukd be clean and dry and move it around whennthe tank is hot.
It sticks to the tank walls and hsrdens up and prevents rusting. Kind of painting the insode with antirust but normal paint will dissolve in petrol
                                This wont.
Electrolysis yes I frgt u can have a go at that too but I think its not always usefull.
