I fitted a wind shield for my av 200. But the guys at bajaj pondi had real difficulty in fitting it.. The clamp doesnt allow space for speedo cable.. Its going awkwardly as u can see in the pic...

        Hello There,

I am going to order an Avenger on this Saturday and was just wondering if you recommend the fitment and you have noticed any difference in performance or mileage after adding a windshield to your Bike.

        Many thanks

          Hi Guys,

Was busy travelling. hence the delay in posting useful info in our forum...I found a company specializing in Alloy wheels, seats etc for Avenger (does it for bullet also). He is based out of Ahmedabad. Details enclosed below:

Contact Person: Mr. Parveen Goel, Proprietor

          Accurate Auto Accessories
          showroom:-shop no.-52 & 53

          website- Accurate Auto Accessories

Cochin guys: There is a person by name Chamber Jose in Kaloor stadium roundabout who does bike mods. / customize bikes.

I have discontinued searching for saddle bags. Now the quest is to get tubeless tyres and alloy wheels (without which you cannot have tubless tyres) for Avenger. Mr. Sampath Kumar from Bajaj gave a prompt reply in tubeless tyre for Avenger (but yet to get a fruitful reply). Thanks nevertheless.

            Wonderful Thread!!

Here is my list of modifications done and to be done

            1. Saddlebag - I own the Cramster COLT bag. It is of 35 litres and actually meant for bikes with upswept Exhaust like Karizma, Pulsar. I fitted it on my Avy and took it to the hills of Bhutan, worked great for me. Not too big, not too deep(so that it touches the silencer).I didnt face heavy downpour, but the bag didnt trouble me in drizzles, so cant comment on the waterproofing.
I never wanted to attach a permanent saddle bag and didnt find a better alternative in the temporary ranges! The best thing about this bag is its very lightweight and you have nice straps to hold it in case you want to carry it as a travel bag. Works two way actually! I used it to carry my luggage in train with utmost ease!
            2. White lamp : I have heard about Osram Night Vision, Philips Diamond and Crystal Vision, yet to decide on them. Can anyone help out?
            3. K&N Filters : I am game for this. The reviews have been awesome, heard about 30% increase in pick up and also better fuel efficiency.
K&N High Performance Air Filters, Oil Filters, & Cold Air Intakes
            4. Rear Tyre: Wanted to go for tubeless, but dont want to compromise the spoky look. Need to consult with my mechanic if tubeless without alloys is at all possible If not then atleast a tyre change to 140/80(MRF).
            5. Extra rear seat padding: Need to find a better padding so that it doesnt become a misfit..anyone suggestions?
            6. Horn : Removed the original one and added the Pulsar 200 one! Pretty much better now!
            7. Metallic Logo : Have seen some Kawasaki monograms available online, any idea where a metallic monogram like the pulsar 200's can be bought from?
8.Windshield : This looks supercool, but my mechanic had resisted my temptation last time by saying it gets cracked soon! But still I feel I cant resist this!

Please help me out with my queries friends...
            Thanks,
            Arni

The rear portion of seat is too narrow. This has to be broader for optimum comfort. So the whole seat has to be changed!!
All black paint job like in P180 for the lower portion of bike
Bajaj hologram in metal (like in Unicorn - Good job Honda)
I intend to fix a good quality bag on the right side of the bike (i had enquired about the bag which comes in Bullet. I was told by the Kochi dealer that the saddle bag cost only Rs. 10000/-...Phew!!)
Foot rest for keeping the tired feet on level platform (like in Yamaha enticer).

I also would like to know if all can contribute to prepare a list of specialists who do such a job in metros and tier two cities (like Cochin, Coimbatore, Nagpur to cite examples). I will do some hunting around the city and revert back with my posts in a couple of days time. However fellow kochites can contribute. Lets do it for the benefit of all x-bhpians.

This need not be limited to Bajaj. It can be for all touring bikes like Karizma, Enfield - thunderbird.
Yes... Please mention for nagpur.... I wanted d side bag.

                      few thoughts from me side...

                      1. white light is utterly useless riding in rains &/or rains + night time. stick to yellow [remember vibgYor]

                      2. tubeless tires need to have rims that are alloys... some older versions of BMW's had forged metal spokes running tubeless tires. however the lugs of the spokes on those rims were arranged @ the perimeter of the rim & not @ the center [as is the case w/ avengers]

                      3. putting k&n will have marginal increase in the overall power-output. the avenger is basically a de-tuned pulsar & if there is a performance gain one seeks, one shud be tinkering the bores, pistons, jets, etc. & not the filters i.m.h.o.

                      4. tract tests of a windshielded & non-faired avenger shows the later performing better & giving better mileage @ the cost of the windblast. unless one plans to rip the bike @ 100+ speeds [which is suicidal on avenger] the windshield pretty much makes little sense as deflecting the windblast on highways is its primary objective.

I always felt safe on Avenger at 100 kmph, than riding an activa at 50kmph, it is really unshakable..

You can go to Bharat seat works in machhi bazar, dharampeth. They make good custom bags and not that costly. Also for touring cramsters are good.

Re: Bike accessories - Bajaj Avenger / Cruiser / Touring bikes

@excalibur: a windscreen is more aerodynamic than the human torso so I guess it won't affect the performance and FE of the bike. So would be good for highways.

If u like u can fit a steelbird or studds dickeys and paint them as per your bike's colour.

Or if you want a custom made bag, search for a good bag maker or tin box maker for soft/hard bags in your city. There must be some of them.

Also what have you decided about the exhaust? A meatier exhaust will compliment the Avy.

                                Hi,
on Bajaj website. the avenger is with windshield. so i guess its an bajaj's official accessories.but today when i went to book bajaj avenger they said that windshield is an aftermarket accessory.
i asked him to provide it with bike but he denied with that excuse.
and can you please tell the price of windshield.
