I noticed it early, that shouldn't be of problem, oil on the thread is not a problem, perhaps the mechanic might have used it to lubricate the plug thread. But since there is traces of oil on the plug, I'd suggest you to remove the plug wipe it clean, go for a spirited ride, remove the plug and see how it fares, if you see oil in the tip or the insulator, then you have trouble. I'm gonna change the spark plug since this one was soaked with oil before rebore due to oil consumption by engine maybe that's why the tip still has oil, is the apache rtr bosch dual electrode spark plug compatible with unicorn? It is compatible with Unicorn, but it is definitely not better than your current G-power plug(even in its current condition). I had tried that twin electrode plug in my Unicorn, but I was not satisfied, so I switched back to my old G-power after using the Bosch twin plug for 2K kms. That was really helpful, thanks :-) but the problem is the g power CPR8EAGP-9 isn't available anywhere, I guess I'll have to stick with the current one till new stock comes in. And for carb tuning, will a quarter turn anticlockwise be enough? Amazon sell them, Snapdeal sells them, but, only the range that they have there. You won't get tailored specific spark plug that you'd require, for that perhaps you'd want to head to a good spare reseller who has good knowledge about spark plugs. But if you're lucky, try Amazon and Snapdeal, they have what they have, if it fits your bill go for it. Trust me, spark plugs apart from what the manufacturer recommends isn't going to offer much of a performance push, it's all in the marketing, but yes, they do have their high-tech perks. Spark plug colour
So I installed k&n's on my bike and rode it for around 200 km. This is the colour of the spark plug when I pulled it out.
Now I know white means lean but, my plugs were white even before installing the filters.
And the mechanic says this colour is "good" . I'm new to this hence I need your opinions. Is this dangerous for the engine?

This is extremely lean and any good mechanic wouldn't say it's fine. Look closely even the insulator tip is powdery white. What we're looking for is light tan to mild black, though sooty black means the mixture is rich it's better running a little rich mixture than excess lean.Originally posted by Scarecrow3 View PostSo I installed k&n's on my bike and rode it for around 200 km. Try doing a plug chop or readjust your afr accordingly. As I've always said these conical filters are just a waste of money for practical use.

Motorcycle: Suzuki GS-150-R.
AFR Setting: Stock which is according to the Workshop Manual, "2 turns out".
Plug/Driving: CR6HSA that has done duty for 7000 kms. The center white part looked grey-ish with a very mild tinge of brown. This is the second plug (13xxx to present 20xxx). I used the factory fitted CPR7HSA for first 13k kms - it was all sooty black when I changed it last year. I drive at 60-70 kmph in 6 gear most of the time. The recommended plugs for my vehicle are CPR6HSA and CPR7HSA. No black smoke whatsoever till now.
