nice, good work on that bike too, i saw similar ones for kids in some big stores. However i still think minor should not be encouraged to ride even though adrenaline kicks in early or as parents there is a feeling to fufill our dreams disguising there's. I knew how to ride a scooter when i was 17 but i was not allowed to ride anything before i was 18 and had a license, and i think i thank my Dad for being responsible.

Grandpa Ken thinks he is an Old-fart...

Only Old-Fox has any claim to that title on Xbhp

Well, it seems under-geared after those small wheels, but I guess at this age (8), undergearing is better, than making it capable of high-speeding. So, Mileage must be like 8 kmpl or something??

Anyways now, that he can ride on his own, atleast you don't have to manage wheelies as a Pillion, do you?

When he is 16, don't forget to tell him to join Xbhp. We would love to talk to him.
                Thanks Samarth.
Yes it is undergeared with those wheels, but as I said, it keeps wheelieing all the time. Which is why he starts on 2nd. And rides mostly on 3rd and 2nd which makes it fuel guzzler and giving a mileage of something like a Sbk.

The way you were teaching him reminds me of my Uncle (a biker in his days) teaching me to ride the Hero Puch at the age of 8.
I will also teach my son in the same way. Luckily they will have better machines than what we had!
Do not count on having better machines here in this country for children.

He might have a kid in the next few years... you never know. Which means that his kid will be riding a bike in less than a decade. I am pretty sure fossil fuels will be still around aplenty.

Totally agree. Minors should not be encouraged to ride. Parents should be responsible. But still I plan to visit countries (in SE Asia and some countries in the West as well) and see the sport where kids start racing at the age of 8 onwards on Dirt. These races are amazing and 10year old kids ride like the way I will NEVER be able to ride. I have no ambitions or dreams. It is pure fun. You can join in too if you feel like. Just drop by.

Yes, Aryan is scared sitting behind. Which is why he never wanted to sit behind me on the R1!!!

Was thinking of the same, as I'll be getting married in 2-3 years & wish my kids get an SBK Rider dad I mean ME only!

Thanks. And yes, I will keep updating on the progress. This weekend I may go around taking some interesting pix on difficult terrain where he might even fall...

I will surely convey that to him.

Giving the recent updates from about 10 days ago. He has been practicing on the older offroad section that is evident in the first post. And later he was keen on practicing on a piece of land that was plowed by a Bulldozer. I was hesitant. He was not. So I let him ride there. He enjoyed. He fell. More initially. Much less after a few days of practice. On relatively better land, he can maintain good speeds. But on this, it is tougher. Some photographs.

He is learning to stick out his leg

                      He is trying to lean

Getting decent lean angles for a 9 year old on off road

While practicing on the above patch, after a point of time, just going fast and bit of leaning and doing figures of 8 do not distract him enough. He gets bored saying that there is not much to do. Speed is not fun enough over there. Hence we moved to a land about a hundred metres away.

Below is the new terrain that he is trying out. It is not easy to ride on this. Earlier he fell quite often... every 3 minutes or so. Now he can ride on for 6 minutes before falling or taking a break.

This part he enjoys much more. And the more he does this, the easier it becomes for him to do everything else.

Hope you guys enjoyed too. I will be shortly uploading videos too.
