Thats why I deleted the post. So, looks like no Iridium available for Xtreme! Anyways, I think there should be a reason behind that. Why don't you try the GPower? I think fitting the ZMA's Iridium may cause problems. Check if anyone else has done it successfully.

Don't go for the ZMA plug, NGK hasn't listed it for a reason on their site.

You could instead try the Bosch twin electrode plug!

        • ^^Thanks both of u guys i wont go for the ZMA iridium plug.
I thought it would improve the performance thats why i insisted on the iridium stuff. This is what bosch site says about the twin electrode plug:

BOSCH Super: twin electrode for 2 wheelers
          • Increased ignition reliability throughout the spark plug’s entire service life
          • Improved cold-start characteristics
          • Low ignition-voltage requirement
          • Self-cleaning effects in case of sooting
          • Two ground electrodes increase the plug’s service life

Is this thing like the iridium stuff will it increase the performance??.which should i go for Gpower or this BOSCH or any other plug.

              • Suggest you use only the ordinary NGK - CPR 8 EA 9. If you are itching to spend more, try the G-power. Why do you mant to waste $ on the Irridium? Only advantage is that it should last longer...

Same for Bosch. It will NOT increase your performance. Its all marketing gimmics.

Its more important to maintain the gap. I'd go with NGK anytime.

There's no Iridium plug for the Unicorn Engine. All its derivatives and the FZ16 use the same plug. So you can look at a twin electrode plug or a GPower one.

In fact, the Uni's GPower plug costs Rs 200 as against Rs 130 for most others.

Hope that was CBZ Xtreme and not the CBZ. ZMA & CBZ use the same engine block and the spark plug. Besides, the GPower (Platinum) and Iridium plugs need considerably less voltage than a nickel (regular) plug from the coil for ignition... in this case the coil problem could be because of something else...

Well, I'm no expert at this though!

In contrast to what we've been learning all these days, NGK's Japan website mentions that the Iridium IX plugs' life is similar to that of a nickel plug and that the Platinum ones are the long life ones. There's another type - NGK Iridium Max that gives a very long life and is generally made for commercial vehicle engines.

Intresting! If thats true, than the Iridium sparky turns out to be quite a pricy investment with no tangible returns!

                      • I thought i would be seeing some kinda performance by going for iridium.
thats why i insisted on getting it.well u guys say its no use then why bother.SO now its either G power or the HH plug.is this G power plug better than the stock ones??

                        • ^^^ u'll at least notice better cold starts, better response from the throttle at higher speeds, no misfires and definitely cleaner combustion (even if you can't notice it!) and that definitely results in performance. Sometimes it is hardly noticeable.

See, you buy a bike worth so many thousands and expect a noticeable bump in performance with something worth Rs 550.... how's that possible?

I have heard on this forum from experienced ppl that such mods get you may be 2% better performance at the best... and can you really notice such a thing clearly?

When I shifted to GPower from a regular plug on my Victor I didn't find anything other than cold starts becoming better. That was during winter. After using that plug for two months I have reverted to the regular plug for a day during these hot days and I can clearly find the difference... yes, very subtle difference with throttle response, pickup, misfires at higher speeds and good amount of it with coldstarts. That's my experience.

This is my testing when I wanted to checkout the Iridium IX for my R15. My victor needed a plug replacement, bought both nickel one & a GPower one to try it out. I'm now going for the Iridium on the R15.

I will go with the G-power.

                            • Is the BOSCH twin electrode suitable for pulsar 180dts-i UG3?
                              how much does it cost?
What differences can i expect after installing them?

                              • Consider buying the sparkies from NGK authorised dealer... or at least compare the price 1st. Buying it from showrooms usually means paying grossly inflated prices. Beware of fakes... esp. if buying from elsewhere.

pavanchirmade, there is zero evidence that more electrodes are better. At best the plug may last longer... but the higher price will probably negate that benifit too.
