  • Geez mate - is it like you are riding at extended high speeds most of the time?? If not, the plug is obviously going to do more harm than good!! Use it ONLY if your engine is running REALLY hot most of the time!

    • i think if it was dat complicated
      den honda must have mentioned a caution with it
      i think dey r suitable 4 heavy load riding but not unsuitable for low load riding
      still if u think i must remove dis plug i wil use another straightaway( plz. tell me if adjusting d gap cn avoid d harm to d engine)
      No , i am not at all going to ride regularly at extended high speeds bt sumtimes ven i ride high speed i try to reach the extreme speed as long as d road allows
      w8in 4 ur suggestions
      The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
      So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
      And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

        Try NGK iridium-IX if u can get one

          i wud go 4 another spark plug only if dis spark plug(cpr 9ea-9) cn harm d engine under normal riding conditions
          secondly iridium -ix is nt recommended by ngk nor even by honda for unicorn
          if ne unicornian has tried it den plz let me knw

            silly but y not?.......but i got those spitfire[dun remember if the names the same but they do the same job] cables installed on my kristal...along with bosch twin head spark plugs...the results r superb... far better dan using performance plugs alone.....actually dunno if ne1 does such mods 2 any moped so i get whacky nd complete unrecorded results....but wen i got the sparks wid the stock ignition set up...the engine felt as if it was knocking....and the kristals a Dtsi.....so i discovered this wierd thing....the dtsi engines got 2 sparks arranged at an angle(dunno wat angle) so dat there is a straight spark btween them.......but wen u get those twin head sparks.....dese engines make an amazing pentagonic spark.....i saw this wen the mech i was consulting tried to test the sparks with an open dtsi arangement of some sort made by bajaj during the early dtsi days......dunno if this info will b of any use...but still i think i am the 1st 2 notice this so i posted it here

              i finally went to d dealer
              he adjusted d spark plug gap
              and d pick-up increased bt not more den wid earlier spark plug
              i m quite sure dat acceleration has not improved at all (if not equal).
              so in my xperience cpr9ea-9 is equivalent to cpr8ea-9
              but if u usually ride wid a pillion den d power loss due to more weight is reduced with colder spark plug.
              and wid colder spark plug d acceleration is consistent till 110 Km/hr and den it drops where as with hot plug the acceleration drops after 100 Km/hr
              + point
              u must use NGK spark plugs only dey are far better den bosch and champion atleast.

                I have got one with me and used it on my apache. the result was excellent. Currently m running regular twin electrode spark plug, as its best for regular purpose and iridium-IX is best for performance usage.
                There's lot to it other than saddle....

                      It was giving very low vibes, full throttle RPM abt 12250 constant (varies 11500 to 11750 with regular), 0-60 3.9 sec(4.4 on regular). top speed in fourth gear 116 kmph (113kmph on regular). I m running on outer air filter only. removed inner as i bought the bike. efficiency 56 kmpl over 52 efficiency with regular. I m running regular sparkplug as the running is 1800kms yet. I will put iridium to work after 5000kms or after 2nd official service. I just tried it for 50-60 kms.
                      There's lot to it other than saddle....

                        no vibe difference in uni or else not noticeable
                        what is outer air filter ?
                        k & n conical one's ?
                        mman dey don't filter ur air intake to sufficient level

                        and racoon
                        actually a.s.s pple hv a bosch or dis cold plug
                        after a couple of thousand kilometers i will definitely try d hot plug as i myself misses dat original beats of d engine since d 1st spark plug replacement.

                              I clean air filter every 500kms. And atmospheric conditons are also not very dusty. m using my victor with single filter for last 6 years and 30000kms. no probs.
                              There's lot to it other than saddle....
