If you are a regular rider, sooner or later you will have to ride in rain. No matter how well you are prepared the nature has the ability to take you by surprise.
Riding in rain is equally fun and dangerous. We can't just stop riding every time it rains.
can we? Visibility is one of the main concerns when you are out there. So I started preparing myself for rain rides to make them comfortable. My main concern is touring where I cannot afford to stop and wait for the rain to go away.
Rain suits, boots, rain covers luggage, hazard lights, high visibility vest - all check
.Then there was the visibility issue..
Can't see a thing if I close the visor, rain droplets on the outside and fog on the inside. One has to ride considerably fast for the fog to go away, which I can't risk when its raining.
Open the visor the droplets prick u like needles.
I then decided to get motocross goggles.. OK hang on I can't use that on everyday rides. I needed something which I can keep in the bike and be ready to face the nature's surprise.
After a bit of searching, I found transparent plastic goggles at Decathlon. Easily fits in the bike, good visibility, no irrigation to wear..
Used it for 200kms straight up, very good day light and night.. Kept me safe from dust.. just wen I was feeling confident there was the rain

I thought it was good opportunity to check how comfortable it is and rode on.
It was very good for a while and then droplets started getting collected on the glasses, road wasn't completely visible, there was glare from oncoming vehicles.
I had to wipe the glasses every 2 minutes.. It wasn't easy at all.. Had to stop eventually.
Its almost back to square one now..
Is there anyone who has fought this issue with a worthy solution?
Rain repellants? Are they a good option?
Is there any goggles designed for this purpose?
Or wiping of the water is only way out?

Thanks in advance
