Lol! You surely did lightened my day.Originally posted by n_aditya View PostNo rocket science.
Oil leaking from the engine flies onto the chain while riding and there you have it... automatic chain lube.

On a serious note. There is nothing different about RE chain to other bikes. Its open, so will require more cleaning/lubing than closed chain. My bike is Zma with open chain. I clean/lube them regularly.
Life of chain will depend on various factor. The technology (x-ring, o-ring, conventional), opened or closed, the maintenance, the material, the abuse. By abuse, I mean how hard are they ridden. E.g. If you often ride with pillion and ride hard, there is much more stress on the chain due to pulling almost twice the weight than a single rider. I ride 99.9% of the time alone, well maintained, hence my chain and sprockets are still in very good condition, almost as good as new, despite having done 21.5k opened.
X-ring are reputed to be the best. Followed by o-ring. Though in racing, it seems they use conventional chain as they seem to produce least resistance.

If you mean why chain spray is better than SAE90. Chain spray stick to the chain. And I mean literally they are sticky. SAE90 even if they are thick, they still fly off the chain after some time. I've used both.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postis chain lubricant batter then SAE90, if yes then why?

Now don't Over lube it.
If you're gonna lube at each 500-600km
Then 1 round of spray on moving chain enough.
Don't spray for 2-3 rounds.
(I hope you get my point)
