My mech says after every servicin he does teflon coating on the bike. Is it true.
I guess he jst does a wax polish on the bike for the shine.------------

A clean coat of well-applied wax is all u need to keep ur paints shining.
Apply a thin layer of wax and buff it off using a microfibre or one of those yellow cloths sold at traffic signals.
Do it every 2 weeks. You'll love ur bike even more.
Polish ur bike once in a few months regularly. Ur bike will shine for years to come.
I used the Formula1 wax a couple of times, but I found it abrassive. So I switched to apna desi waxpol. It does an awesome job. I use sonax to wash and wax my car. totally satisfied with these.

I have used pidilite motomax initially , but it was just for sake. I could literally feel a layer of wax after the polish, bike felt a lil oily no matter how much I rubbed it ..Originally posted by rpmboy View Postso spending close to 350/- is not that bad hmmm??? but my bike is 4 yrs old, though I keep my bike clean n all but will the polish worth or it will damage the present finish also. its stock though means all natural fade if any.
thx for updating.
Then I opted for sonax, its genuine , imported from Germany and is available at Shell bunks.
Products :: Exterior, Paintwork and Chrome :: SONAX MetallicHighGloss :: 317100 :: SONAX
Its highly reliable and no feel of oilyness after polishing. Plus the shine does not feel like artificial.
The alupaste is the hardest wax available and covers up the visible scratches on chrome .
So far so good

dont wash your bike. car with regular soap..paint loots its shine and starts to loose its colour too...
personal experience on my zma!!!
use special car detergents,,its worth it...
im useing formula1 and turtlewax(liquid) and both are good..turtle wax is better for shine though adn formula one gives the bike more protection!!!!
btw: never ever teflon coat your bike!!!! never!!!! do it only if u know u cant spend time cleaning ur bike or its gonna be lfet un attended for months to come!

Infact teflon coating is very useful, especially if you stay in a area where you have loads of dust.
Just take a cloth and wipe it.... thats it clean... If you observe the same dust cleaned on non teflon coated bikes... the moment you wipe you will find some minute scratches on it...
