Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        • Bros, how is MOTUL's new 3100 Gold 20w-50 semi synthetic compared to Valvoline 4T premium semi synthetic 20w-50 ??
I want to change The Oil for my cousin's Fz.
Plz suggest a better oil among these two.

Motul 3100 is a great oil from what i hear. It's the omly one i havent used from the motul range. But habe read a few reviews on how good it performed, similar to the 5100 bur doesn't last that long.
No idea about valviline mate. That i'm sure others can help.

Valvoline is the best cheap and effective alternative compared to Motul 3100 Gold. The former was used in my cousin's R15, though he now uses Yamalube, nothing else and he was all praises. If your cousin's bike is new, stick to Motul for the run in purely. Else stick to Valvoline, it's the most underrated oil IMHO.

              • Finally managed to find a can of Motul 5100 in Bangalore , damage was about 520 Rs. I am yet to test the bikes performance, Initial low down the RPM the engine sounded a little rough but smoothed out at higher revs. I also need some inputs from the more experienced here how do you actually gauge the difference in the engine oil once you have filled it in?

The more you pay for an oil, the more you are "psychologically" inclined to feel the engine is noticeably smoother. Kiddin.

A valid answer is to run the bike some 100 KMS for it to set be effectively determined. It's not just stop-go procedure that you get the smoothness right from the word go, some feel, some don't but most feel it after the vehicle has run several 100 KMS.

                  Cheers!

The run-in is over, the bike has done 17k kms. What should be the drain Interval for Valvoline 4t 20w-50 semi synthetic when used in Fz16?? Im asking because i used it only once, dint experience much from it as i changed it around 2000 kms. The bike is ridden mostly in city and less on highways.

You would get AX7 at Shell petrol pumps. :-)

For city driving, change it at 3000kms. Since, the city's stop-go has more severity on the oil.

                                Lol, Sir????

Semi synthetic oils can be changed at 5000kms. But, my previous post says change it at 3000kms. Thats because, your maximum commute is in city. But, still you can change it at 4000kms (occasional driving on highway as mentioned by you).

Even i want to try out Shell. Using Yamalube since the start
