From the looks of it, I guess it's genuine. This is Mineral oil, and no matter what it is supposed to be drained at 2 to 3k max. If the shopkeeper just adviced a drain interval of 6k don't go for his words, he's misguiding. Replace it at a normal 2k tp 3k max KM

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I don't know how Hero recommends 6000KMs oil change when ZMA owners change every 2000 KMs.

Yes, anmol, i saw the 6k drain interval on the can. What I intended to say is even if the guy says the recommended interval or the can says 6k drain period, never extend to that period. Max interval of 3k is advised. Bajaj DTSI oil is named Bajaj 10,000, but trust me no single guy have extended to that level. 2 to 5k max. And Hero 4T aren't so good for revving hard, , so you'll have to take that into consideration as well.

Cheers!

Yes, this is genuine one. Not of a good quality
But don't use this oil for more than 1000-1500kms. It will be harmful for your engine.

10w30 is recommended for Karizma also.

If you want a better oil than this go for Mak Gold, at least it comparatively better. Else you can consider AX3 or Agip, all these are very good oils for Karizma or any Honda suffixed motorcycle. As a general rule, this oil isn't bad, it's just doesn't have what it takes to handle an engine with high stress. If you're commuting this is okay, if you're a tourer and high rev rider, look for other options.

Cheers!

Nah, it's just branding for the cash coupon, so that they sell more cans. Ordinary folks just want oil, they don't care 15w or 20w but at least the little educated like us can make the difference in choosing the right stuff.

If valvoline=ax3 then its not even close to motul 3000+.
I don't think they're marketing the coupon, they usually give good advice in choosing the right oil for specific bikes you can see their other posts. If they were marketing the coupon then they would show all their oil grades and not just one.

Not to break your bubble, I've used both AX3 and 3000 to 300V AX3 was if not ditto as Motul 3000T. Valvoline is FS as opposed to Mineral which is AX3. Though you're right on the manufacturer spec recommendation about grades, we know how the motorcycle feels riding in a different environment far better than a manufacturer!

Cheers!

Bubble not broken, my friend has tried ax3 on his bike, says its similar to gulf pride which is also a good oil and I've tried it, id rate it under motul 3000+.

I am having a tough time while sourcing motul 5100 in my locality. I remember some time back yamalube & motul 5100 were exactly same oil packed in different containers. So are they still same or yamalube is now changed. I am asking this as yamalube is easily available at Yamaha svc in my area. So can I use yamalube instead of motul 5100?

Nope, they are not the same now. You can use shell ax7 if motul isn't available.

Technically both are the same, absolutely no difference whatsoever when in usage. If you get Yamalube, go for it, Yamalube is semi-synthetic and it's an excellent oil.

Had to shift back to Shell Advance 10w40 SS oil since the Rimula stockist is on some vacation for the past 1 week or so. I had only half a can of Rimula left. Tried 2 Shell petrol bunks nearby, but they didn't have R3X or R4.

Observations after filling in a petrol engine oil (of a lower grade) after 11k kms and then riding 45 kms in B2B traffic:
1. Vibes have increased.
2. Acceleration seems to have increased ever so slightly.
3. I can feel more heat from the engine now.
4. Strangely, the bike makes more sound when cranked now. Earlier it was a soft(er) rumble. Or, is it just me, nitpicking? psr?
