AX-7 is more viscous at 100 degrees and offers more protection?
If Detergents in R4 will do damage, so will AX-7.
Very good observations.
Look at the W rating - protection depends on the oil suitable for that engine oil type.
Detergents don't damage an engine, they will bind the soot/particles to their molecules and assist in keeping the engine clean.

What I meant was since AX-7 doesn't damage the engine in long run (going by the experience of many of us) in any way, we can expect the same from a HDEO like R4.

Max is 3.k as foreceedge rightly mentioned. Don't go by the 10,000 jingalala, it's not even half way to what the label says. The max should be 3 to 3.5k.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Observations:

N/A simply means that component is not mentioned in MSDS and not in the oil as well.

All the 3 Mobil HDEOs compared have the JASO recommended less-than-1.2 % sulfated ash.

1300 Super seems high in detergents compared to 1400 super.

Overall 1400 Super seems superior (ZDDP + detergent) than 1300 Super
Dont know what you have been reading lately. Mobil 1300 Super 15w40 does contain ZDDP. You can see the last page of the MSDS here https://ehs.cranesville.com/msds.pdfs/MSDS(M012).pdf . The quantities are not mentioned here.

There wont be any good quality diesel engine oil without ZDDP.

In addition you will also find Boron and Molybdenum in the oil (Very minute quantities, but its there) How do I know it? Blackstone Oil Analysis of the samples of one of the US oil enthusiast showed this up. I tried hard to find it again but didnt searched it that hard. If you have time, search various oil threads for Blackstone Oil Analysis of Mobil 1300 Super.
I am sure I read it and a reasercher like you will find it. Anyways, thanks for the comparison.

EDIT- Composition of 5K used Mobil 15W-40 Delvac is here - http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...Number=2896176

Checked oil level today after 2k km of last change and was surprised to see that the dip stick was totally dry, there was no mark of oil on the indicator at all, so went straight to the shell bunk and filled up a liter of shell ax7, what could've caused this? There is no smoke AT ALL coming out of my exhaust and while draining the oil just looked like 500-600ml.

You filled a whole liter? Did you check the oil level after filling? You then drained it all out and found only 5-600 ml after filling the liter? That sounds pretty bad. You need to have your bike checked pronto. Hopefully, it is only a leak and no damage has occurred as yet. If it isn't a leak, you're looking at some serious repair/replacement.

Looks like you misunderstood him. He said that when he checked the dip-stick, it was dry. And he drained the old oil and found it to be only 500-600 ml.
(And obviously filled with new oil after darining the old one)

Ride safe and have fun.

Edited my post to be little more clear. Yes sir, I too know 1300 super will definitely have ZDDP. The MSDS/TDS of Shell/Mobil I referred are the "Indian versions" (After selecting our country on their global MSDS/TDS search page). God knows when these sheets were last updated.

Could be due to oil evaporation and due to lower oil which might have been gotten unnoticed by you, lead to more drying. Good that you spotted it at the right time. Check if there is any unusual leak anywhere in the head or below the engine, if yes then that's the culprit, if no, then oil evap might be the culprit.

Cheers!

I don't know much about the legal side of it, but if a company makes a fake claim, can't they be sued? I think that's very much possible. And why would bajaj take such a risk by claiming 10k km life for their oil? If their claim is found to be false they'll be in deep trouble. There has to be a loophole for them to escape, or the oil isn't as bad as many people think.

Finally tested the shell rimula r4 in my splendor. Went for a 60+60 kms ride. The ride had a 5 hours interval. The oil is extra ordinary. I wantedly ripped the bike for the first 60 kms making it run in 7p's and 80's for a while. That vibration was very less compared to my previous experience in motorcycle oils. Pinaki sir you can surely use this oil now. You will really love it

I have done 350 kms trips on my bike few times, it is running on stock engine oil.
So far it doesnt cause any problem, oil level doesnt drop either.
7.5k on the odo, will be changing to other oil after sometime. Most xbhpians suggest shell advance ax7 ss oil but its not available in kolkata.
Can you guys suggest any other oil?
