Bajaj recommends 20W50 grade oil for 200NS
The W60 will have viscosity more than the W50 / W40 oils. This will in turn put some more load on the engine. Also, such oils are not advisable for normal bikes. 20W50 is more than enough to take on the delhi heat.

Difficulty in cold starts, more strain on engine(too thick lubricant can restrict easy movement) and also reduction in mileage too. It is your wish to experiment, but these are the probable outcomes you might face.

Discover 125ST uses 20W50 grade oil. I completed first service at 640kms and since then I have covered another 1100kms on the DTSI oil they put. Is the Bajaj oil mineral or SS?
I am planning to change this oil after I cross the 2000 mark on the odo. What oil do you suggest for 20W50 grade? I cover about 1000-1200kms a month

Bajaj oil is supposedly semi synthetic. but I am not sure.
For your kind of travel i would suggest to use mineral. In that way you will need to change only once in 2 months(assuming you ride sane) and also keeps the cost in check.

Your driving is on the higher side. Go for SS or FS oils. I am not sure if FS oil will suite the engine or not. Have heard from many bajaj folks that, the FS oil tends to leak.

Which SS oil would you recommend for 20W50 grade? And what would be the drain interval?

                Motul 5100.
Drain interval of 4-5k if riding sane, 3k if high revving action.

                  1) Motul 3100 Gold 15W50 4T
                  2) Motul 5100 15W50
The 3100 is good for about 3000 kms and the 5100 is a bit costlier but has better quality and good for 5k to 6k kms

Not really unless you'd want to spend more on the 300V. The reason it's w60 is offroading bikes have their life dedicated to to slush grime etc etc which increases engine temperature as such and with the high revving nature, all lead to one enemy HEAT.

And to combat that it's just a little extra. Personally having been used all their 4T oils I'd suggest stick to 7100 or the 5100. 15w50 in both.

                    Cheers!

Of course it is. It's just the Temp grade difference for lesser CC bikes which is considerably priced lesser and most of all it fits with the Indian genre bikes. So at least some people can rejoice.

                            • About engine oil castrol power 1 semi synthatic

                              Hello guys
i have p150 ug3 and i have changed my block piston recently and after that i used motul semi synthetic 20w50. but after 2000km the oil started evaporating. It was just little less as i see through the glass on the engine. So i decided to change the oil. But there is something wrong with Pune motul dealer as no stock is available and i need to change the oil, so i searched near by and at castrol bike point the guy told me that i should try castrol power 1. then i changed the oil to castrol power 1 semi-synthetic of 15W40 grade . SO i just want help that is it ok for p150 ?? means i dont knw which grade oil is recommended for p150 ug3 as different people are telling me different grades. so is 15w40 safe with my engine and is castrol good oil ?? or should i go back to motul 20w50 ? i have heard that p150 have heating problem and so W50 is better than W40, is it true ? And while i was using motul 20W50 semi-synthetic it seem like i am riding with so much weight and with castrol 15w40 power1 ss while riding its very free please help me regarding this..
