Rakesh I understand the sentiment, but as a request please don't use one liners for thanking somebody, instead you can always like their post of PM them personally with the subject. It's members like you, who have the rights to take care of our forum, you know many people would get to use this, and imagine reading from mobile and going back a page just for thanking is really time consuming. You're a very active member, and I know you'll help us in keeping the integrity of the thread. Thanks. And I hope I don't a get a reply for this.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I would complete 2500 kms at around 6-7 months. So is it ok to change oil after around 7 months.

There isn't much different from mineral as opposed to SS, you can absoutely use the same KM wise according to your need. But if you are a sane city rider, mineral to SS is the best combo, don't look for higher priced SS or Fully Syn anytime soon.

                    Use
                    1. Motul 3000 (10w30)
                    Or
                    2. Shell Advance AX7( 10w40)
                    Or
                    3. Motul 5100 10W30

Sorted according to cost in increasing order.
Change it and feel the difference.

                        p180, 1 yr old, 10k kms..!!

Got it serviced today, and filled her with motul 5100 15w50 for the first time.

                        Changes i noticed:
gearshifts are 20% more smoother.(should i expect more smoothness as i read somewhere on forum that new oil would take 200kms for to show significant performance change)

                        engine is relaxed.

                        Humming is good.

firing is very crisp.(because of engine oil or servicing??)

engine feels heavy, as if there is over lubrication in the piston area but the sound is awesome(good or bad???)

                        Query:

The shop owner said that as this semi synthetic oil, its drain period can be 4k-5k kms. He said that just check the oil level every 500kms after 3k kms. Is this correct? or should i directly change the oil after 3k kms straightaway as i have been doing until now..??

                          Shopkeepers say this..
                          but follow these drain intervals:
                          Mineral- 2000kms
                          Semi-Synthetic- 3000-3500kms
                          Full-Synthetic- 4000kms

                          Ride safe and have fun.

i was under the impression that all oils need to be changed at 3k, so i used to replace my bajaj mineral oil also at 3k kms..!!

what about the heaviness if the engine..is it goood...?

Old oils make the engine feel heavy. So its always better to change the oil when the time comes.
na na, minerals have less life than the SS/FS. 3000kms is at the most, and since you used to change it at that time, so no need to worry.
