What oil did you use, the rating ? 15w50 ?
and what oil does bajaj recomend for pulsar ?
using a thicker oil than recomended can make the engine feel heavy..

Ride safe and have fun.

Bajaj recommended is 15w50, but I'm guessing he's mostly used 10w40 since thats more widely available. New oil feels heavier, takes at least 100km to settle.

It should not cause any problem, they are the same, almost.
as sinnerz2000 said, ride 100-150kms, the oil will settle down and the heaviness should fade away.

Yea, Motul is a good choice. Don't worry about slight heaviness, it will fade away.
I had also changed to Motul last month for the first time. Changed to 300v after using Yamalube mineral for 2 years
Engine loves being on Synthetic oils. Much more smoother and lesser vibes.

It doesn't leak on all FS oils, only on 300v for some reason and that also only on certain bikes, bajaj bikes respond well to Motul 7100.

Need your suggestions. I'm a newbie in bikes. Till now I've used bajaj service centre oil and now wanna switch to some other brand. Which oil is best for bajaj discover 125st?. My bike is due 5th service in two months and has completed 7,200km on odo... Thanks in advance.

Got it serviced today, and filled her with motul 5100 15w50 for the first time.

Changes i noticed:
gearshifts are 20% more smoother.(should i expect more smoothness as i read somewhere on forum that new oil would take 200kms for to show significant performance change)

engine is relaxed.

Humming is good.

firing is very crisp.(because of engine oil or servicing??)

engine feels heavy, as if there is over lubrication in the piston area but the sound is awesome(good or bad???)

The shop owner said that as this semi synthetic oil, its drain period can be 4k-5k kms. He said that just check the oil level every 500kms after 3k kms. Is this correct? or should i directly change the oil after 3k kms straightaway as i have been doing until now..??

After using Motul lubes from 3000 to 300V, I've seen quite a few bikes, leak even with 5100 and the best oil, when it comes to affordability and performance is 5100. Personally I didn't find any difference right from 7100 and 300V series. Both are costlier and the former is single ester, the latter is double. All this means is one, it means more fine the oil is, and the more the fine the oil is the more it will find hot spots for leak. Not only in Pulsar it leaks, it leaks even in Apache and most Indian bikes.

Our bikes aren't meant to be used FS especially sans the new breed of bikes. Older bikes will definitely squeak no matter what. You can either remove your head, and reinforce it with a better sealing agent, if you're a thoroughbred FS user. But that is useless unless you're a race junkie or do one for a living.

For my bike I use the 5100, currently on 300V so far so good. 1.8k clocked on the odo. 300V is just an overkill, I used it mainly because of the extended drain interval, nothing else.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

I have been using 300v in my ZMA from last 35k kms...never leaked :-)
Its a amazing oil at least for karizma. Engine feels much smoother and lasts up to 2500-3000kms
