haha cool down. If I feel that I have made a mistake I would correct it. That's me. I wont try to justify it.

As mentioned in the post itself, that was a very simple explanation of what the numbers on the bottle basically mean . I said the numbers indicate the viscosities at low and high temperature, which is true. I didn't explain it further. Btw, I don't have to prove my level of knowledge to you and actually it's much lower than some of the experts here.

You wont get the essay post from me. Google around for some time and you probably will know why synthetic oil lasts longer than mineral oils.
Don't try to spoil my day by starting a fight pal. Going out.

There is no problem with the oil.. the clutch plates would have worn out i think and the problem precipitated with the use of this oil. Mileage drop and reduction in pick up is a clutch issue.

You may have a lot of knowledge, but what is appearing from your post is that you have just started researching on oils. Consider an example below:

So you mean in 10w40, 10 is viscosity of oil when cold and 40 is the viscosity when hot! The oil is getting thicker with temperature?

Going by the book, w40 (which is the spec you will find on most diesels) cant be used in w50 recommendation. But most bikes around the world which have w50 recommendation have been using HDEOs. Whether you want to go ahead or not is your call.
Can they be used with activa and splendor. I can buy them they can be used with them. I dont like the oil sitting stable in my store room. Can you give me the price of r3x and r4.

Then would advice you to go with Motul 5100 or any good semi synthetic in the required grade. You are good to go... I think with 5 - 7 kms of avg running Fully synthetic would be an overkill.

With low run like that it is more important to remember to change oil every 6 months ( every 4 month would be better ) - with any oil of suitable type & grade . You may as well as stick to the Bajaj dtsi oil and keep replacing it early at every 1500kms of use ( or 4 months if that come earlier ) . That way you'll always be running good fresh oil & keep your warranty intact too .

muztariq sir, doesn't a car engine oil have something called friction busters? IMO, that will cause slippage in bikes.

I am using hdeo on my mighty plreasure since last 4k kms. No issue till the day. If I compare it with other used on her crank. Its superior to all others. Before hdeo, Honda 10w30 by savita felt to be best. Hdeo take it to next by making the engine smoother and engine feels more stable during the long rides. Thanks to Ravianna for suggestion.

Just one Que. What colour will it be when svc will drain it in next service (mar- april)
If it's green, then it's trouble as it should look like a typical dtsi oil when they will change it
Thanks sir as I've no knowledge upon this subject and you're helping me out.

That bajaj dtsi oil will be reddish brown in colour when drained , not like Motul ones.

But on my first service, it drained like cherry black.

That's fine. Anyways don't void warranty and atleast avail all free services.
I think according to bajaj maintenance schedule its mandatory to change oil in alternate services(1st, 3rd...). Confirm this.
so don't worry if you are running motul during 2nd, 4th...service.
I had changed oil to synthetic at 3k kms before going on long ride of 400kms. And just before the 3rd service again i changed it back to bajaj oil which was kept safe before.
So all this hard work was done for warranty Choice is yours.

Let me tell you straight. If you put the Motul 5100 and drain it after running approximately 3000 kms.

It would come out black but MAYBE with a tinge of green, but i doubt it. That is if your mechanic removes the previous oil studiously.

So it depends on how much you ride in this interval until your next service.

So now you decide if your running is low then the investment made is not justifiable for your concern.

Hope that answers your question.

cheers...

Yes sir your statement seems right. But my only problem with dtsi is it goes off after 1500 km and gear slipping after 700 km on oil

Yes, they do. I dont know which message you are referring to. Please elaborate.

HDEOs do not have friction modifiers and that is the reason ppl using them are not encountering clutch slippage on their motorcycles.. Some diesel cars are using HDEOs.
Most Petrol cars are having friction modifiers in their oils.

Its important to specify the car or the oil here.

I am not a spokesperson for HDEOs. Much has been written about them in the last 200 pages of this thread. If one is interested, he may go through those pages..
