Re: Engine Oils
I've been using Motul 7100 in my Duke 200 since my first servicing. Done 8000Kms but the engine feels too rough. I haven't changed the oil since last 2500kms but have completed around 4 months on the current fillup. Should I just keep using the 7100 or switch to something else to make it a little bit smoother??

Re: Engine Oils
If the 7100 isnt helping you then the only next option would be the motul 300vOriginally posted by wallpapers123 View PostI've been using Motul 7100 in my Duke 200 since my first servicing. Re: Engine Oils
Actually my doubt was on the lines of, is the roughness because of the oil isn't changed in 4 months or because it is 7100..Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostIf the 7100 isnt helping you then the only next option would be the motul 300v

Re: Engine Oils
Current generation engine oils can be used in Petrol as well as Diesel cars.Originally posted by harikishen View PostYeah I read that beforr but it has API and JASO rating thats why I had doubt. It can be also used for diesel engines too

It is because of the oil being old enough now. Change the oil and you will surely feel the difference.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostActually my doubt was on the lines of, is the roughness because of the oil isn't changed in 4 months or because it is 7100..

Re: Engine Oils
I change mineral oil in my bike every six months, i dont think a FS oil would feel rough after just 2.5k km and 4 months.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostWill change the oil again to 7100 this week..thanks!

Re: Engine Oils
Actually I haven't been riding my bike a lot in the past couple of months, so I avoided changing the oil in my 3rd servicing last week...Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostI change mineral oil in my bike every six months, i dont think a FS oil would feel rough after just 2.5k km and 4 months.

Just from a knowledge point of view, would putting mineral oil once in a couple of months for a change make the engine a little but smoother??

Re: Engine Oils
No, its not gonna help, it'll just make things worse. Bikes like ktm arent meant to run on mineral oil, thats just used during the run in period so that the bore and piston rings wear properly.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostActually I haven't been riding my bike a lot in the past couple of months, so I avoided changing the oil in my 3rd servicing last week...

Re: Engine Oils
Consider the SS and FS like blood groups. You either have it or you simply don't. It will behave differently with both the oils mate. So definitely not RECOMMENDED. The D200 is meant to exploit the benefits of FS and also you can pour in Xtra Premium fuel, it will benefit from it too.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostActually I haven't been riding my bike a lot in the past couple of months, so I avoided changing the oil in my 3rd servicing last week...
