Motul 3000 and gulf pride 4t plus are way better than
    crap-strol.

Any good brands other than castrol?

Motul has got an oil specially made for these automatic scooters, you can look out for it.

In that case you might want to procure two bottles.

There's Motul 10w30 Mineral (JASO MB) for one, costing around Rs 210/-

            Check my profile.
Access125 : 43 kmpl used it for around 6,500 kms
            GS150R : 52 kmpl (19976 kms from 382.644 ltrs of petrol/gasoline)

Frankly, I don't know. You should be the best bet with proper/right tools if you're up for it.

My Access125 is/was running on Suzuki-SVC-Oil not sure of grade & make. It differs from SVC to SVC, or so I believe.
Price - I don't know, you can inquire yourself.

Hey first of all congratulations on the new ride, wish you a million happy mikes ahead
Now, first of all ask the svc if youcan bring your own oil, most svc allow this but some have issues with warranty clauses etc.
Now for the oil, sice your bike is in run in its best to stick to mineral/ss.
              Motul 3000 15w50 / motul 3100 gold 20w50/ motul 5100 20w50 (500km to 1500km, replace oil filter)
And then I would use the above oils at a 2000 to 2500km drain interval till I am 5 to 8k kms on the odo and then I would shift to 7100 or 300v
Also 300v and 7100 will have a tendency to vaporize and drop in levels in this summer heat. Many owners have reported a little oil condensation in their spark plugs too in chock a block traffic

Motul 3000/3100 gold is around 350rs
              5100 around 550rs
              7100 around 680 to 750 I think
              And 300v is above 800rs.
Prices aproxx. in kolkata it may vary from where you are
              Hope this helps.

Royal purple is a texas based organization. As far as I know, U will have to source royal purple oil from distributors in China.

Bro this is a little ot. Can you head over to the carburettor thread? There is lots of info on gs150 carb cleaning etc just a few pages back.. You will get a lot of information there. please dont mind my friend.

                        hello buddy
Using motul 5100 for 7000km is a little too much, 5000km is more than enough. (Unless your a pure higway rider)
You can use 15w50 no issues as such ,just remember to replace the oil filter. Theoretically ,Since this is during the summer the 15w50 oil will hold its viscosity better than the 20w40.
During winters you can switch back to 20w40 say motul 30004t plus.(2500 to 3000 km drain interval), change oil filter when you change grade and dip the oil filter in 100ml of oil before hand.

                        Hope this helps

thanks for the info bro. Actually I forgot to inform 7000km ( 3,500 kms oil changed and now almost 3,500 + kms running ) . I never changed my oil filter, but next time i will keep that it in mind when i shift grades. Will valvoline 4t premium 20w50 ss be a good alternative in winter as I prior to motul i used that oil it was really excellent .

20w50 will be better in summers, that dosent mean it wont be good in winters, but I would go with 20w40 just cause it would heat up more quickly in winters samething you don't want it to do in summers
Oil filter should always be changed woth grades change and even during runn in it helps filter all metal particles during runn in etc change it asap and its very cheap too (around 50rs).
I personally feel bajaj engines are more happy with motul
If I were you then 15w50 in summers and 20w40 in winters is what I would do, but you can stick to any one all year round too without any ill effects

Got it, will stick to that rule.. motul 5100 4t in summer and motul 20w40 in winters and most importantly oil filter change. Thanks again bro.
