Which bike do you ride? You can use any oil at any given point of time.

    Cheerz!!

Even at the start of this thread they say new bikes need to be allowed to run on mineral to so that the engineer sets properly. That's why I had this doubt.

Currently I'm on Shell mineral oil(their cheapest product don't know its name) and gave completed 2200~kms.

        Thanks.

Edit: I don't drive regularly so even though kms are low my engine oil is more than 6 months old should I change it?
don't use synthetic oils till you complete atleast 10k kms. following it will save your engine from future leaks....

Looks like the gasket in my 125ST is blown again! I had this issue after 3rd free service at 6000kms, when the oil was not completely drained before refilling, leading to excess oil and pressure. I changed to Motul 15W50 around 4000 kms ago and I am seeing a slight leakage since this week as well. The leakage is exactly at the same spot at the base of the engine block on the left side.

On this thread, people have reported blown gaskets when using FS oils, but I don't see any issues with SS oils. Also, the same type of leakage could mean a design flaw.

Leakage is still very minor, and I will be monitoring it till I get it fixed around end of Sept. Should I go back to mineral oil then?

Kindly check oil level, if it is low, top up. You can use the oil if you aren't facing any harshness in engine, hard gear shifts.

You are getting your maths wrong brother . There is no way you can fill more or less oil than the correct oil level if you fill up to the correct level by the dipstick ( or oil level porthole ) - no matter how much of the previous oil you have drained ( or not drained ) . Gaskets are also very very unlikely to leak owing to synthetic or semi-synthetic oils on such a new bike either ( if you are using OE gaskets ) .
Maybe the gasket's leaking on your bike for some other reason - better check for that . Else just replace the gasket and keep watch . That is what they'll do if you complain to the Bajaj service . While they have opened the crankcase cover for the job , check carefully if there is any minute flaw in the mating metal surfaces - exactly where the leak is occurring . If there is - it's a minor manufacturing defect and you need to sort it out ASAP befoe warranty expires . Best of luck .

Blown gaskets due fs oil ??
Not possible bro... have being using fs oil since 7k kms not a drop of oil leaking from anywhere!
Maybe in your case the addictive compounds in your oil are eating away the gasket i guess!

Hello Bhpians, I am riding bajaj Avenger 220, and She is now 4years old. My question is, I am using MOTUL 300V since last 2 years. Is it good for the engine or 7100 is better? I have read somewhere that for bajaj, 7100 is good.

                          Help!

When you are happy using 300V, why do you want to switch to 7100? If the current oil is meeting all your requirements, continue using it.

I am doing the same, but some people suggested me to shift to 7100 as 300V us a bit over ranked for Avenger, it is more than its requirements and modern is wasted.!!

Even with the extended Oil-Change-Intervals(OCI: 4-5k) the cost 300v demands doesn't make sense with common Indian motorcycles. However, 300v is a better option for premium motorcycles.
