Re: Engine Oils
my new 2014 pulsar 180 has done 600 kms. During the first free service, they put in Bajaj DTS-i 10000 20W40 oil. Actual recommend is 20W50 but they didn't have any so they put this one. It has been horrible driving experience. I went ahead and bought Motul 3000 4T plus 15w50. Is this okay to use for my new pulsar 180 ?

Re: Engine Oils
Yes, you can use 15W50 oil without any issues. If the SVC guys don't keep stock of recommended oil, IMO, take your oil and tell them to fill that for you. Also, make a point to let Bajaj know (mail then)about why you are using your own oil and not DTS-i oil during free service period.Originally posted by acushle View Postmy new 2014 pulsar 180 has done 600 kms. Re: Engine Oils
No, it would be more beneficial. Slight reduction on pick up can be observed... but you are better protected with this oil.Originally posted by vvk1987 View PostI am using 10w40 in my new honda dio but the recommended grade is 10w30
Will this increase stress on engine ??

Re: Engine Oils
Yes we can use it.. but you would need 100 ml every 6 months for such purposes. I think any new engine oil whether car's etc can solve this purpose easily.Originally posted by asn39 View PostOk guys i went today for my bike cleaning and asked a few guys mechanics they said v can use old engine oil to lubricate external components like foot peds also drive chain and many other is it ok if v use old engine oil as a lubrication ?

He uses grease on wheel axel and bearing and engine oil every where else like:
Headlight switch
Indicator light switch
Foot rest hinge
Break pedel
Chain sprocket
Clucth wire
Throttle wire etc
I have got no time to DIY and ise proper lubricant so letting him do his way but things are going ok.
Engine oil catches dirt.Thats the only problem.

Re: Engine Oils
Hi,
Whats the Engine oil grade for Discover 125cc 2005 model? And suggest me a best engine oil brand for the same.....
I always change the oil in SVC, so they used to shown as in the bill as "Bajaj DTSi 10000 Engine oil" without any grade....
