Is it car engine oil? If so, you shouldn't use it. If it is HDEO, your choice, if you want to use it or not.

How are car engine oil different than a motorcycle engine oil if the grade is same or similar?

Car oil come with friction modifiers which can cause clutch slippage

It is a car oil and shouldn't be used in bikes. A bike oil will always have JASO credentials written on it, like JASO MA / JASO MA2 / JASO MB etc along with API SL etc.

Car oils have friction modifiers or certain additives in it which causes clutch slippage. In cars, engine oil is different and gear oil is different. Whereas in our bikes, one oil circulates thru engine, gearbox, clutch.

Also, now a days, engine oils are certified to be used in both, petrol as well as diesel engines.

Today went to nearby oil shop to buy Gulf 20w40 oil for my splendor and i was shown two cans that left me scratching my head. Both are "Pride 4T Plus 20w40" but having completely different stickers on the can. I have attached pics similar to those that were shown to me. Is either one of them fake? Why does Gulf have different stickering for the same oil variant?
Have any of you bought and used either of these?

                  Thanks!!

One bottle is 1 liter and the other is 900ml.

We have Mineral, Semi Synthetic & Fully Synthetic Oils. To differentiate they use different stickers.
                    Mineral is cheaper
Fully Synthetic is very costly approximately 2 times more than the Mineral Oil.

On the 900ml bottle they have mentioned like 10,000KM interval. May be that is a Synthetic one.

I also tried to check in Gulf Website. but didn't get any info

The Black Sticker one is 'Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W-40 with unique life boosting "Oxy-bitors" is the first bike oil in India with drain interval upto 10,000 km.'

                        Gulf :: Lubricant Products

I didn't even get any info on the blue sticker.

When you enquired in shop did you get the price quote of both the 2 types? did you ask the shop owner about the difference between the two oils?

Use 20w40. It's written in the manual.

It was same price also - 250/- bucks.

Only difference was the mfg date . One shown on the right side (which is the one shown on gulf website) was manufactured in May 2015. The other one is Oct 2015.
Question is why is gulf website showing an older product/sticker on its official website?

Old timers here - any of you have experience with this product and can comment on this? I usually buy motul 20w40. Thought i would try this due its popularity in this thread.
