Motul 7100 ... If you can spend more then motul 300v is the best...
Look for oil grade according to manufacturer recommendation...
Or look in your owners manual...

Which engine oil is suitable for my bajaj dominar 400? It's recommended grade is 10W50. Can I use motul 300v(15W50)?

I read lot of posts here on Engine oils. I have Bajaj CT100B which requires 10w30 and I have crossed 10,000 km in a year. I got 3 points:

Shell Advance Ultra vs Shell Advance AX7

          1. 10W40 will be better than recommended 10W30.
          2. Fully-Synthetic oil is almost 3 more more expensive than Synthetic (I hope they meant Semi-Synthetic by that). Since I am going to change oil every 2.5K, is it justified to go Fully-Synthetic ?
          3. Using different brand engine oil voids your warranty. My point is, engine oil turns black around 3K. How do they know it was Bajaj or Castrol or Shell ?

            1. Yes, 10w-40 is better for our conditions than 10w-30. Sometimes, temperature chart alone need not be used, an engine with very tight tolerances can do with a lighter 10w-30, but often a manufacturer will also consider mileage and emissions when selecting a particular grade.

            2. No. Waste of money. AX-7 will be the best for 3000 km drain interval or AX5 for 2-2.5 interval but AX5 is 20w-40.

            3. They won't know even if your clutch slips but will do when your tongue slips .

Stay on Motul 5100, a fresh new oil is better than old synthetic. And since 5100 is cheaper, you replace it faster too. Use for 2700-3200kms at max.

Actually I think motul take time to warm up like 10km(correct me if i am wrong) or so and my run is 7km from home to office and then return 7km total 14 to 16 Km a day.

So I was planning to use Valvoline 4T premium 20W50 Synthetic blend oil as i saw some good reviews on amazon.is it ok to use valvoline?

You need a oil which has low viscosity. Changing the brand and going for the same grade would not make any difference.

Motul has cold rating of 15 while Valvoline has 20. So motul takes lesser time to warm up. Valvoline is good too, but motul feels better as per my experience.
