from what i know about synthetics,the molecule size of synthetic is less than that of mineral oil.in our bikes the seals are designed according to the normal oil, so if we use synthetics due to smaller molecular size it should leak..
pls correct if i am wrong

may be u r right but if thatis the case...bike should emit smoke...???

my theory is that once the bikes gearbox (specially pulsar) is around 2-3 years old...a little amount of play sets in the gears and other moving parts specially if u ride fast....which increases friction.....and this friction consume oil.....wht say...nice theory...

Should not be a big issue if you want to switch over to a mineral after synthetic... but its really not a good idea to keep doing this. Mixing stuff can have unpredictible outcomes. If you wanna stick to 300V, its not the best thing to to just mix Elf in between.

update:

had gone to the motul Disti this morning got the Motul 3000 4T Plus 15W50 priced @ Rs.200. the this does not have a imported by sticker on in & does have say mineral on the can.

on enquiring more the guy said its made in india itself & is a new product,its not listed on the motul site as well.

i rule the possiblity of fake since its from the distributor,but motul out sourcing there products is something new

can somebody throw some light on this ? will post pics of the can once i get back home

update on 'Motul 3000 4T Plus 15W50' : done about 400 kms,engine is still butter smooth,gear shifts are neat so far so good ... looks like a better buy than the Castrol Active Xtra 4T (20W50)

engine does tend to get heated(not boiling hot) after covering some distance,which is acceptable since its a mineral oil,planning to continue with this on my avenger till i hit 6K Kms,will keep posted on this

as my bike was consuming oil.....i have now put Castrol Active Xtra on thursday since castrol website says this oil reduces the tendency to consume oil.....lets see wht hpns.....but one thing is there.....the oil is not very smooth...just OK type....and is red in color....i purchased it frm CBZ. even CBZ guy suggested this oil...if your engine is consuming oil.....and its written on one corner of can .---"synthetic technology" ......wonder wht that means.

As Valvoline 20W40 Can also mentioned as Synthetic Blend.....
I asked the same to the Delaer and he said its a Semi-Synthetic Oil....

So does it means C4T is also a Semi-Synthetic??

I had it before when im using TVS Oil....After switching to Valvoline i've ridden near by 1K and still now there is no Probs...

To you it should mean absolutely nothing! To Castrol it means increased sales due to simpletons assuming that "synthetic technology" means synthetic oil.

i agree dat it may b a marketing gimmick but wht castrol is saying dat this particular oil is consumed less......i m just checking bro.....lets see

my uni gulped down 1 L of cp1 in 3 month and 3k km , is it normal .

~ 100 ml was left then i topuped it with some 20W40.!

Nope U must get it checked.. try using honda oil I guess it is a better option den the Castrol power 1 in my opinion for the honda engines..
