Bro, I have already ordered it to a oil shop owner. He is already having the Petronas 2000 - mineral oil. I have told him to collect one bottle of 5000 from the dealer and paid advance of Rs. 250/ for that. Probably next Saturday I can get that. I'll try to find out the dealer's address from him.Originally posted by kaka View Post

Actually their may be 3 conditions this happenOriginally posted by ceasar View Postyes u should drain that first,as zayn said,u cant mix mineral with semi-synthetic..may be you should try CAstrol power 1 20w40 it works wonders man, trust me..b 2500km down the line and still the engine didn't feel rough, been on a small trip, all the way rippin p150,no problems at all, make sure u get original one
Servo 4T we tried ,not worth, may be its a fake one,got it at a petrol bumk on highway
1>It may be fake
2>After draining oil always remember run you bike in speeds of 40kmph or leave your engine for idling this way oil spreads easly and stick to the walls
3>Always pour oil when your bike engine is cool.
and yes Ceasar Castrol power 1 is 15w40 not 20w40
5000 4t cost 250Rs ,Originally posted by kaka View PostIf you want petronas ..see if anyone from kolkata xbhp is ordering or ordered it already. Check in xbhp kolkata thread. Should cost you between 400-500 . It is a cheaper alternative to Motul.
2000 4t cost 160Rs &
4000 4t cost 190-200Rs here in NCR...
I'll always prefer Mineral or semi synthetic oil for touring reasons pulsar have a oil drinking nature so its easy to get mineral or semi S every where in india but not FS oil's If you look in market for 10w30 oils you will find 1-2 brands selling 10w30 oil in that case HH oils come with 10w30 grade. If you pour 20w40 in your ride I don't think that it will have any issue handling that grade.Trust me use Shell Advance SX 4T once and you will feel the difference surly.I brought it for 190Rs from Faridabad(Haryana) price quoted on can was 230Rs and brought it from the shell dealer. He is asking to much for that oil try to find shell petrol pump on google and then buy from there. If still can't find then go for Valvoline Champ 4T 10W30 is also awesome oilOriginally posted by noel046 View PostActually I don know which premium oil rate he has suggested there are some three type of premium mineral oils by shell in that for 10W30 which is suggested for Hunk is Shell Advance SX 4T... My engine is 2k old so Synthetic oil will be big no no... Even I'm ready to use semi synthetic oils like Gulf Pride 4T Plus or Motul 5100... But I feel Mineral oil is best for city and small casual tours... what say
In my place there is no petrol bunk... The dealer said it ll cost around 350 a lr and it was out of stock... So thought of waiting and ask you guys... I wanted to use 10W30... But before buying pack i'll try to gauge and if i feel its original product then i'll go for it... By the way If You have any tips for the please do suggest it will be helpful...
One thing I wanna clear is Engine oil is very sensitive matter and one should always choose correct oil for there beloved machine.Just suggesting 10w40,5w40 doesn't mean that its good its very difficult to find desired grade like me I am searching 10w40 oil mineral or 15w40 mineral which I know I can't find and these oil for freezing -5 to -10C temperature in snow.
One can judge oil is't fake or real by seeing 3D rainbow coloured monogram or stamp on back side of the engine oil can with proper number.Last edited by zayn; 01-13-2010, 01:46 AM.Ride Safe & Ride Long-->

5000 4t costs just 250 ? you serious ? A fully synthetic oil for such a cheap price ?
5000 4t cost 250Rs ,

There are hardly or no fully synthetic oils in the 10w30 grade available in india. Petronas is 10w40 . Motul Fully Synthetic is 5w40. I am using petronas and my friend who had a unicorn used motul and petronas . Both were totally fine. I recommended only for HH hunk or cbz . Just gave him alternatives to 10w30 . You can cross check with others regarding this grade issue. Hope I am clear. There are cbz users who use motul 5w40 fully synthetic without any issues.

Hey... You are right, there is no problem in using 10w40 in Hunk/CBZ-X/ZMR which are rated to use 10W30 (even ZMR... Strange right...) 30 to 40 act increases its use in higher temperature or when you rip your bike and engine temperature goes lot higher... Though according to my knowledge 10w30 is sufficient... In case its unavailable V can use 10W40, this grade is easily available in India i guess in various brands...

Frankly it depends on you but I prefer every month, with not so expensive oils.I prefer SERVO,Shell,Valvo etc I have used all kinds of oils even the diesel engine oil and suffered a lot but don't recommend members to do this.Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostAt what intervals should a mineral oil be changed? Yes buddy it cost 250Rs in Haryana its true except 10w30 FS Motul is there which is also difficult to find but not for me.I am not saying Petronas have any kind of of issue.Motul not only comes in 5w40 it also comes in 10w40 too Motul, castrol have best artificial oils Petronas oil are only synthetic oil by name but not good in front of Motul, castrol, shell etc.Originally posted by kaka View Post5000 4t costs just 250 ? you serious ? Yes you can because Hunck/CBZ-x/ZMR are 150cc and above bikes HH recommend these oil because they think 20w40 will effect the revving of the engine. That's all crap so you can use 10w40 easily. you should use shell or velvoline and you will be happy trust me.Originally posted by noel046 View PostHey... Bikes like Pulsar 220dtsi owner says there is a problem in cold start there is a solution for that use 15W50 instead of 20w50..
and for FZ-16 use 10w40 or 15w40 instead of 20w40..bike will come alive in a single thumb.Ride Safe & Ride Long-->

I have used 20W 40 shell in my Xtreme observed it did not limit the revving nature of the engine in anyway. The same goes to CP1R(10W 40) which i used for over 10000 Kms my bike revved like CrazyOriginally posted by zayn View PostYes you can because Hunck/CBZ-x/ZMR are 150cc and above bikes HH recommend these oil because they think 20w40 will effect the revving of the engine. That's all crap so you can use 10w40 easily. you should use shell or velvoline and you will be happy trust me.

many ppl who've used power 1 didn't like it. They told me that the engine had become rougher and the usual refinement was missing.
How were yamalube oil , valvoline and gulf mineral oils ?guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

Yamalube is very good. Both their mineral 20w40 and the 15w50 semi synthetic oils are used in their super bikes like the R1.So have no doubt. In fact yamalube 15w50 is the only semi synthetic oil which is sold by a manufacturer in india under its own brand.Originally posted by kaka View Postwhy did you even want to try a diesel engine oil ?

I found only you saying CP1R is not synthetic please show some proof so that we can litigate castrol
Shell also comes in 10W30 grade you used 20w40 grade.
.Infact i can ask the same show me the proof CP1R is Synthetic not a hydrocracked petroleum product but a true synthetic oil like motul and its NOT just me who thinks so..lol
Synthetic base stocks
Synthetic motor oils have been made from the following classes of lubricants:
- Polyalphaolefin (PAO) = American Petroleum Institute (API) Group IV base oil
- Synthetic esters, etc = API Group V base oils (non-PAO synthetics, including diesters, polyolesters, alklylated napthlenes, alkyklated benzenes, polyglycols etc.)

Real Synthetic Oil
"I wouldn't use any Castrol products in anything I own. What they did to legally call their synthetic blended oil as a synthetic oil did nothing but hurt the entire synthetic oil industry. So while Castrol says it is fully synthetic, I would really wonder.
“Here's what happened. Mobil Inc. makers of Mobil One sued Castrol Inc. makers of Castrol Syntec, accusing them of marketing a hydro cracked petroleum oil as a synthetic-which they were!
Mobil Inc. felt that Castrol Inc. had pursued an unfair market advantage because group three based oils are much less expensive to manufacture than true synthetic oils yet Castrol was marketing Syntec as a 100% synthetic product: Castrol could make it for less, sell it for less and un-fairly under cut all it's competitors in the synthetic oil market with a oil that was not truly a synthetic product.
In the end though, Castrol convinced the court that group a three-based oil has been sufficiently refined that it should be able to be marketed along with true synthetic oils. Basically the court expanded the definition of synthetic to include group three based oils.
Because the synthetic oil market is the fastest growing part of the lubricants industry, manufactures are eager to jump up and grab the profits that having that sexy customer grabbing word synthetic on the bottle bring.”
