Here, in the Bajaj SVC, the Bajaj DTS-i 10000 oil has not arrived yet. I also can't believe the claim of 10000 kms. Ya, I will strictly follow the grade, i.e., 20W50 (as mentioned in the manual).



I also think that it is because of the 4 valve technology, 20W50 is stated in manual. My friend having P150 UGIV said that the svc here gives Elf engine oil to all bikes and he is not satisfied with that oil (which is poured in his bike at 1st service). So, I am trying to avoid that oil and use good oil in 20W50 grade.

Dude if that is the case then buy your own oil & carry it to SVC & tell them not to put thier engine oil as you have the one which you want & it is of same grade & before taking the bike delivery get the new engine oil poured in to your bike.

In 20w50 you may try Motul Mineral, Petrona Sprinta Mineral or Castol Activ or Activ extra which all comes in W50 grade.

I have decided to use Motul mineral oil. Today, I went to a shop having Motul oils. There was 20W40 grade oil present but the person there said I will get the 20W50 grade mineral oil in next week.

Dude I guess Motul mineral comes in 15w50 grade & not 20w50, anyway I am not sure if this is a new grade which has arrived.

before buying the oil Just make sure that this oil should be Imported from France, which should be mentioned on the side walls of bottle.

If you cannot find this oil, you can always try petronas as well it is a good oil or you may try castrol activ extra or something which comes with synthetic technology whatever oil you buy just make sure that it is of correct grade.

I belive you shoudl try & get hold of 3100 15w50 Instead of 3000t which is 20w50, only because 3100 boasts technosythese technology just like Semi Synthetic oil

Well i am using Motul 3100 20w40 in my fz16 just after 1st service and it is made in india under the guidelines of Motul not the imported one and still what i felt is it is best mineral oil you can get over yamalube.

@Umesh: Yes 20W40 is Indian Motul has 10W40 with technosythese technology which means oil can be topped up with semi synthetic oil too can be mix with it.

15W50 motul 3000 4T (mineral) costed me 190rs from a dealer and 210 from a retailer. MRP is 225rs. Am using this for the past 5k kms. 3 oil changes done and it goes bad within 2k kms on my 220 which i think is not bad at all!
