      • Hey Guy's
My pal's been using an oil recommended for car's lately on his Pulsar 200, but going to replace it with Bajaj Dts-i 4T 20w50 tommorrow. We looked for Motul 3000 4T plus in the first place but could not get it.

What kind of oil filter does the Pulsar 200 use? Where is it located? Is it like the one in RTR? I replace oil filter at every oil change. Please advice on this matter, as i suggested to clean/replace his existing oil filter.

+1 to Aneesh .. Gulf pride 20w40 is right up there with the best .. use with confidence . I use motul because it's the opposite here ... they hardly stock any gulf . Elf is very good too .. I used their 10w30 fuel economy oil once .
Ambient temperature range determines the grade of oil your engine needs ( along with the engine type and usage ) . Hotter climates use heavier oils ( like a 20w50) and cold places use lighter oils ( like 10w30 or 5w40 ) .

It would be worth it for him to find motul/gulf/elf/ oil in 20w50 or 15w50 grade . The Bajaj oil doesn't get much positive feedback here . Yes , very good practice to replace oil filter at every or every two changes .. it is not a costly part and it matters very much . I believe the pulsar 200 oil filter is located under the small circular cover fixed on the clutch-side engine case with three bolts .

Gulf pride 20w40 is a mineral oil
                costing around 230 bugs

i couldnt find Motul 300V in chennai so i asked the service guy to put Castrol Power1.. but that stupid guy poured Castrol Activ 4t instead...
i really got angry but coundnt help as he dint have Power1...
i dont feel good with this oil and the engine is also growling a little at even 60km/hr itself... now im thinking whether to change the oil immediately or wait for another 500 kms and change it on the way to leh or continue wit this oil for the whole trip....
guys pls suggest what to do now...

For now dont change the oil as it would be a waste of money. Change it while on your trip to leh.

                          • Yes , good idea .. keep this oil in and carry a spare bottle for the trip .. you'll need it ; one for the road .. as they say . Yamalube is a really good oil ( it's motul only ) .. why change it for a hard-to-find oil ?

I don't want the honda engine oil as after riding it for some kms,the exhaust note sounds rough.
