  • @manan.. AGVs have pretty good visors. Keep them clean. Before you leave house, wet the visor, soak any dirt/splattered bugs and then gently wipe with tissue or soft cloth. Also clean the inside of the visor. This will help avoid fog to some extent. Then like others said here, if its fogging too much while riding, flip it up a lil at times... keep the visor free of scratches... sometimes even a single scratch can cause "multiplication" of the glare...

    • a few weeks ago I have almost picked up a car windscreen cleaner that resists fogging. but wanted to use up the regular windscreen cleaner I already have.

Did anyone try those cleaners that avoid fogging? Either in cars or on helmet visors?

      • Guys, went to Balaji helmets and checked out Cross and LS2.

Liked Cross better for some reason and was quoted 3.3K for a particular model in XL size. Comes with a skull cap and a bag to carry the lid.

the guy claimed it is CEE certified (europe).

Please help me choose between cross and LS2 and if these are worth buying.

What I need is a good helmet with a good certificate of safety and with removable liners. Also with XL the helmet moves a wee bit when i shake my head. but it is a snug fit and is pretty tight while wearing and removing it. Is this the right size for me or should i go for L which is a size smaller (but not available with the dealer).

What is the correct certification for Cross? I dont trust the stickers and tag's on the helmet.

P.S. Checked the same brands in other shops and the price was higher by 500 bucks.

Hey Aditya, check out the cross helmets in Perfect Riders JC Rd (Yamaha Showroom). Last time I checked they were 2.5k. Though I dont know which model in particular you are looking at. You got to bargain well at Balaji. Lots of guys in this thread say the same. They are out to loot you.

As for certification, I dont have a clue. Googling for cross doesnt give me good results (all of the results point to either MOTOCROSS helmets or helmets from China, which as discussed before is'nt a bad thing). Dont think i've seen it any of the US websites for helmets
          Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

Thanks for the reply dude. Will check out the Yamaha showroom next week. I tried google-ing too, no joy. Absolutely vague results for cross helmets.

Any idea on the LS2 helmets as to how good they are and what price i can pick them up for?

LS2 Helmets are good. Which design are you looking for? The white colour form this months new lot or matte black and red graphics?
Go back some couple of pages nad you could probably find a brief discussion about matte black and red graphics LS2 helmets
The best price for LS2 Helmet is Rs.2700/- Bargain with Balaji Helmets or Helmet paradise.

                Thanks for the reply Sakthi.

I am interested in getting the LS2 Phobia helmet.

Please see below. I was quoted 3.8k for the same which comes with a warranty of 12 months (bill included). Seller had advertised here (Mr. Ved from Adventure on the rocks) and will courier the helmet from hyd.

Mr.V said the helmet is EEC certified (Europe). I like the helmet but since my ninja is a good 2 months away, I want to make an informed and well thought purchase.

Do let me know if this price is OK. thanks.

                • @n_aditya - dude, the helmet looks great but 3.8 appears to be a bit high. Especially since others have been getting their's for 2.7 - 2.8. My advice is to wait for some time, the price will definitely come down by then.

                      • I got myself a BHP helmet. I had other GPRs as options but most of them had their visors shaking n loose padding etc. Are BHP helmets good?

I wouldn't suggest to buy a helmet without actually trying it on.. no matter how good the deal is or how good it looks.

The most important thing about any helmet is how nicely it fits you (read snug). Whatever you get... do try it on ... even better .. if you could ride wearing it too, before you hand over your cash.

Thanks for the reply Niel. Could you confirm if the LS2 Phobia model is available for this rate or anything less than 3.5k? BTW, Balaji helmets quoted over 4k for LS2's.

Prices coming down is a far reality as the KA Govt has increased VAT from Apr-1.

Thanks Spider. Looking for a green lid to match the color of the ninja. But sadly for my budget, none available. So have to go for black/white combo or black. Red/black on a green bike would look colorful but a lil wierd i guess, no offence sir.

Where dude? Do let me know as I will be going to chennai in a few weeks. Pls also let me know if the helmets are genuine. Lots of places exist where we get branded helmets for cheap but they are far from genuine.

Please let me know and thanks for replying.

Thanks for the reply Asim. I tried on the LS2 lid at Balaji and it was a nice tight fit. Moreover i had to exert some pressure while wearing it and removing it. Only thing was a slight movement when i shook my head a bit vigorously. That was with XL. But couldnt try a size smaller as they have no helmets in this size.

Any info on Cross helmets and what certification they come with?
