I am looking for alternatives now.. do you have an idea about Rjays Swift jackets.. they look like a good option.. the only problem is the location of their stores.. Tardeo is a bit too far off for me..

    Lets see how it goes..
Before buying RJay's Swift I tried JK17, DSG Nero. But found Swift as best of them all. I also stay in Ghatkopar but went all the way till Tardeo to get one.

JK17 is cheapest of all of them but is too heavy. Also it doesn't have a waterproof liner.
DSG Nero is also a good Jacket is a bit heavy but liked the RJay's swift as a better mesh jacket. I bought it last weekend and tried it during rains also. You get wet but not because of water entering the jacket but because of sweat. But if you remove the inner waterproof liner its the best mesh riding jacket you will get for that price.

Just narrow down your own requirements then a suggestion can be given which will help in selecting the right one....Right now i guess you are only considering the design and colors these jackets have....

Define your requirements & then you'll be able to figure out which one to buy by yourself.
      thanks for your replies

actually i am riding to badrinath from delhi this month and i need jacket for this ride.i want a jacket which can also be used in city commuting and touring both during all seasons.jacket must be waterproof and should have a removable thermal inner.and the most important thing it should save me from injuries in case of an accident(quality of armour must be good).

While comfort is very important, you need to address the purpose of the gloves first - protection for your hands.

Falling off a bike will ALWAYS result in your hands coming in contact with the ground - to break the fall or stabilize your body. IMO after a helmet, the most important basic safety gear you can buy are gloves.

Choose the type of gloves you want to buy based on your usage. If you are predominantly a city rider at low speeds, gloves with textile uppers/leather palms will do, while if you ride often on the highways at higher speeds, it would be advisable to go in for complete leather uppers and palms it has the best abrasion resistance. Knuckle protection and armor is something else you might want to look at too.

Whatever you choose, select a pair that has durable leather on its palms, preferably double layered at the base of the palm with a twin layer on the outer blade of the hand too as these are the most common points of contact with the road.

                      Hope this helps.

Havent bought it myself but have borrowed it from fellow xbhpians for some of my long distance rides. I found them very useful and was able to stuff in quite a bit. If you really have a lot of things to carry, you can always double it with the Cramster / any other brand tank bag. Of course you will have to apply double sided tape on the edge of the rear panel for the R15. Havent seen the RJays saddlebag so cant give a fair comparison.

                          • On the Cramster bags - I bought a Stallion. The product for that price is simply great & a pure VFM. But...my recent trip to Munnar shattered everything. The Stallion couldn't withstand the heat from the exhaust & it gave up. It simply melted the plastic bottom & the material. I'm 100% sure that the bag hasn't touched the exhaust at any point in time. As there was a large gap.

RJay's also has a saddle bag in that price range; IIRC Rs 2100 or so.

I am left with no options...going for a trip to north karnataka and I am expecting heavy rain. Just enquired and found that Rjay's touring bag is out of stock .
Now either I will go for the cramster colt or wait for the Rjay's one.If I wait... I need to buy some waterproof cover for my bag
