re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Actually the price for sol sf1 is cheaper by 1000-1500inr or more compared to revzilla(gmax78).add to this further duties and buying sf1 is cheaper here!Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostDuties on imported apparel is calculated at approx 30% of the invoice value + freight cost. Then add approx 5-10% for handling and C&F costs. So if you import something that costs US$100 and costs about US$50/- freight, you will end up paying approx 35-40% on US$150. These are thumb rules and exceptions do occur so use the information accordingly. Sometimes Indian customs simply do not bother and you end up without any duties at all!
of course, this is getting rarer as systems become more iron-clad.
So basically its not always practical to buy stuff less than 100usd.oh well, hope spartan or some other group figures out a way to bring genuine riding boots at competitive prices.
Question: are spartan planning to bring out any lower back armor/protection.I shot them a mail but yet to receive reply(takes time I know).the current market option is only cramster's at 1200inr.sastec armor provided for the Helios only offers upper back armor.and yes having an official brand like Knox providing armor is better than no name ones.just saying. Its a smart marketing move by spartan too at the same time reassuring to the customer.๔ยкє ҭђгєє ภเภєҭұ เภ ๓ұ שєเภร

Respect always buddy. No question - Cramster products have saved my behind on more than one occasion and I have publicly acknowledged that several times. Personally, I would like to see better standards and products at better pricing so that more bikers can have proper protection. I also think that there is always room for improvement where safety is concerned and if pushing the envelope makes me an upstart, then I'll wear the badge with pride.

Yep, the more options the better it is for the customer. By the way good way to sense an opportunity and catch the attention of the customer.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! On a different note, I have found your posts really informative. How about a post on explanation of CE standards, different levels and types explained in depth. Links would help a lot too?

LOL! That's right. SOL is cheaper in India because the company in India is represented by a JV - with SPG. So the helmets come to India direct, eliminating all middlemen, resulting in lower landed prices, the benefits of which are passed onto the customer.
OT: I'm in the office waiting for a con-call so I checked with the HelpDesk about your mail. You were replied to at 7.40pm. Please check your inbox!

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Mr. Sandy, I have been a long time customer and know Spartan since inception. They only sell riding gears manufactured at their production house. I have met the owner and know their line of products. As on date, I have not heard, seen them selling any other brand. Infact I'm one among few Chennai xbhpian to have bought their products soon as they were available.
I'm not sure of your friend as to where he bought the jacket or why there's a absolute silence from him.
Kindly refrain from such cooked up stories here, we respect each other and let's not spoil the world with some imaginations for some kick!

Can you tell your friend's name / shop's name? Alpinestars guys from Italy might be interested in getting to know him.

May I hazard one OT please?
In the interests of all members and to be fair to all products, we should be FACTUALLY correct about what we write here. If there is a doubt about our facts, it is better to wait, become accurate and then post. Else, we end up creating such avoidable snafus. Opinions are like a**e***es, everyone has one, but facts are facts facts.
I was ticked off once, long ago, for not quoting the exact figures from a bike's manual, on an ownership thread. That was MY mistake. Since then, I am doubly careful about this issue.
