Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I'm afraid I can't be of much help there Bro. I haven't really checked out the new brands like Scoyco, on the Rocks, Spartan, etc. I bought the Cramster Velocity pants in 2009 and using it since then.
Velocity 2.0 has a warm liner and some air vents extra.
Mine has been perfect. I use it for 6-8 rides every winter and throw it back into the cupboard. It was 4350 then.
Do check with others regarding the quality, some have been complaining of Cramster of late.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hi All,
Any one has any feed back on 'ASPIDA - Proteus Mesh Pants' they are around 7k i believe. Also any thoughts on 'Alpinestars Stricker Pants'.
am looking for a riding pants or knee armour, I think pants would be better in terms of over all protection and comfort.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

hey dude, under 7000 yes just 2 options you have
cramster
solace
cramster having good pants i heard from my one of friend who is using it from 2011 till date with so many rides.
but nowadays i never heard a good response or review from any member on xbhp or in any forum. people just making complaints about the
quality although price is low but now quality is also low which was good before 1 or 2 years
i bought solace agility red/black one pant last year in november. i found the quality is good & thigh padding is extremely good. as one more reason that
i bought this was double stitching at crotch point.until now no complaints i am using it very roughly though.
you can just check it out if it is suitable for you as it has colors. I am using below one.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Guys need advice.. I went and tried tornado pro jacket it looks great and feels like quality stuff.
My question is about size I wore large and xl. The large one is pretty tight with both the liners the xl one is quite loose.
Will the large become comfortable after wearing it a few times.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Some more suggestions guys? I really need your help on this!Originally posted by joelgreen View PostCan someone recommend me a good pair of gloves within the 2.5k range? I'm willing to stretch upto 3k if it's worth it but cannot go any further due to budget constraints.
After careful thought about my riding routine, my preference would be the full-gauntlet type, however all suggestions are welcome.
I live in Mumbai (Thane, to be more specific) and generally ride to office and back. Never got a chance to tour yet, but as soon as I do, I'll be off in a giffy. :P Anyway, back to the important details - I do not intend to ride much in the rain and hence, am in no need of waterproof gloves, but a decent (read 'tolerable') balance of ventilation in the summer and shielding from cold winds in the winter would be desired. It may be noted that most of my riding would be in the winters. I generally don't ride for over an hour (it doesn't take that long to get to office) but yes, I do cover a good stretch of highways in the process, hence the full-gauntlet preference.
Please do enlighten me as to what options I should consider, as I've stormed the internet and come across a lot of gloves from DSG, SPG, Cramster and Rynox, and I'm completely confused. Do let me know about the Pros and Cons of the pair you suggest. Thanks!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Right now the only full gauntlet gloves in you range is the solace, which is below 2.5k and the next is cramster trg 2 which they hiked the price recently, now available at 2900/- others gloves are 3300/- onwards.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostSome more suggestions guys? I am using cramster trg 2 since last 6 months...my first and only leather gloves. Till now m very much happy with the buy. Used in whole summer and never break the sweat. Not sure about solace, heard its good buy too.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hola Amigos!! Im waiting delivery of my first moto, a RE classic 500, and I have purchased few of my gear already, like Helmets (MT blade), Jacket (Aspida Icarus-thank god I bought it before price hike
) and gloves (Aspida Centaur).
Now, I intend to commute to work sometime(~50km), so I was thinking to get a riding jeans. However we don't have many Indian options available and imports are costly. I saw the royal enfield riding denim, but it did not feel as strong as one would expect. On paper it is made of 14oz Lycra Toughmax denim, so the abrasion resistance may be at max twice as good as normal cotton denim, but considering normal cotton denim will only survive for 0.6 seconds on good asphalt, its not much to go on. What other options do I have for less than INR 6k?
I was also thinking to compromise on riding jean/pants with normal jeans + compression shorts (like Dainese Hard E1) and knee guards. Is it a reasonable compromise?
For boots, I'm thinking RE short riding boots. I had tried them on and felt pretty good, though the size was larger than required.
Any help is much appreciated.
