User experience on Nelson Rigg Spirit 30



Had bought this long back, but haven't had a chance (call it guts if you want) to use it until my last weekend trip as I didn't buy the straps.

Somehow I managed to strap it using the provided loops & made a simple one knot to stay it fit on my rear of CBR; needless to say, it performed brilliantly & most importantly none of my things were moved from one end to another, may be its due to tight packing, but still. The bag also didn't move a mm here & there despite several 100 of twisties & several 100's of bad roads.

Fixing the tail bag is at the rear most part of the CBR at the grab rails & hence left roomy for the rider to ride the bike more than comfortably. I'd once even stuffed up stuffs, but the zip slightly seemed to give away (they're not YKK) but still held good.

Absolutely delighted product that I got it from US; bang value for money.

Nice one, RG, if you can post it with a photo of how you've mounted to your bike, that'd do a big favor for the CBR owners around here. And also how much did it cost? If you can throw some light on that one and the sourcing part of which website or store in US that'd be great.

Was gonna ask just that! Was looking at this very bag yesterday and now you post a review of it! How do the cords hold up? Where did u attach em on the CBR?

I guess, as of now there is very handful guys who's going in for the RYNOX stuff and even more handfuls going in for the Dirtsack stuff and a very few posting a review as such, so I guess WE'D have to wait for a while to know what's RYNOX and Dirtsack is all about.

I am planning to go for the The Navigator tankbag very soon. But I guess Dirtsack Speedbag and Cramster Colt are both the same when it comes to the capacity and features.

Meanwhile, the RYNOX Nomad has a pretty big carrying capacity holds 38 Liters per side (Expanded) unlike 16L (per side) like the Cramster Colt and the Dirtsack Speedbag.

So that sums it for the most part, let's wait and see for some honest reviews here.

checked with cramster store in arcot road. They didn't have anything in stock.

I had heard from someone that there is a shop in nungambakkam but i cant recollect the shop.(i am not so sure about nungambakkam as well)


Also need to buy the good quality Bungee Cords too. Searched GP road but wasn't able to find the good ones.

This bag sure is VFM. Looks and feels top quality and very sturdy too. Quite big in size so will comfortably pack quite a bit for a 3-4 day trip. Nice buy Ganesh.

Orazo Picus

Got myself the Orazo Picus a week ago.
I have been wearing it to office since then

Pros:
Extremely comfortable to wear - unlike riding boots. You can walk fair distances without feeling any sort of discomfort.
Steel toe and Ankle protection is good.
Waterproof (I haven't tested this aspect yet!)
Light Weight
Bloody good grip
Cons:
The reflector at back could have been of better quality.
The smooth surface means that the gear shifter tends to slip of the shoe sometimes - but I guess this is because I am not used to the shoe yet.
Lack of a shift protector on left boot.

All in all it is worth the 3420 Rs it cost me.
Will post a more detailed review of water and cold resistance soon.

Some doubts on Optimus M

Got the RYNOX Opimus-M bag last week.. Note this is not a complete review. I am yet to use it on a proper long ride.. can comment then.

The bag really is of great quality.. finishing is perfect.. cant find any loose/broken stitches.. has big sized pockets.. reflectors on all sides.. waterproof cover for the entire bag.. one pocket is waterproof I believe.. etc

1, Great quality atleast to my eyes
2, Its BIG.. and expandable upto 29lts!!
3, The magnetic base is detachable through a zip. Once removed this bag can be used as a carry bag/tail bag. Or I think we can attach the 'suction base' of Optimus-S which is non-magnetic for use on bikes with non-metal tanks.

1, Zipers are not YKK! It doesn't feel bad.. but not great.
2, The bag cannot be used as a carry bag unless the magnetic base is removed/unzipped, since the carry straps go inside the magnetic base and the bag. It is little frustrating to unzip/zip the base now and then.
3, Even though Rynox charged an extra amount for sending the bag through blue-dart (over maruti couriers).. they still sent it through Maruti couriers and a cause of delay. I don't know why a premium then.

As of now, The bag is an excellent VFM.. Detailed review after atleast 1000kms..

I like this bag man! I have some doubts regarding it. please take your time to clarify it.
My requiremnts are
1. I need to fit a 15.4'' inch laptop
2. A full faced helmet

now my doubts are
1. After removing the magnetic base where did you keep it
2. In uneven roads how did the bag respond, did it bounce? Sorry if the question is comical just want to know, read somewhere magnetic tank bags move or bounce in bad roads
3. Drag when in high speed (3 figures)

I too bought the same shoes. And they pretty comfy. But wearing whole day the toes are little smelly when i take the shoes out in the evening. But thats a minor issue. Overall i am pretty happy with it.

And about grip. Its good in most places, but as i do some trekking too, the grip is obviously less than the trekking shoes. But the shoes serves there purpose very well.

I am observing little scarring in the place which comes in contact with the gear lever. Hope it doesnt spoil the surface of the shoe. Want it to last atleast a year.

Cramster is your only branded option in that price. You can buy them online. or you can check out the fake ones in ebay, if you go a few pages back you will find the links i have posted.

Even am looking for bungee cords, I found some in helmet shops which seem to hold.

Its just water resistant and not water proof. That is, it resists well with some splashes of water, but not good in rains.

Saar, my experience is nothing compared to yours and of many others here. I only have 21k kms of sport bike riding before which it was limited to office commutes
