That says it all. Thanks for the mail, Krish. Would really, really clear up the air for many people around here. So you zeroed in on A*?

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

        • Yup, was waiting for the mail from A*. I dint ever think they might respond. But they did and im going for it. It will cost me Rs.200 more for courier, else would have to pick it up from AQ. Lets see, need to be able to look out for fakes at resellers.
Planning to go for the chest guard upgrade in a month or so after raising money for that.

          Cheers

          • Is there any shops available in Chennai or Tirchy for cramster products?? Please dont tell Velavan motors(not quite satisfied). Please suggest some good stores apart from that??/ What going through reviews of Spartan Helios - in one of the review buyer has given a feedback that it will quite last for only 2 years due to the mesh layer.I consider it as a one time investment due to recent fall in highway while riding Access 125 so thought of investing it in protective gear.Usage will be occasionally once in a month.Regarding gloves whether dsg motomesh can withstand cold climate while we use at early morning?? Sorry for silly questions... For knee guards i have choose this AXO RIDING GEAR-Imported Elbow & Knee Guard-Set of 4 Pc | eBay
Helmet - already owns a 2 year old Vega Formula HP(bought for Rs.800 2 years back) whether this is sufficient from the safe point of view.

Just to clarify - The Spartan Project began prototyping the HELIOS jacket way back in Aug 2010. The first working examples were put into field testing with senior bikers in Chennai, including several from XBhp. Many of those jackets have been used day in and day out for office commuting and even long distance touring in all kinds of conditions and terrain and are in fact still in use, after two years without having worn out or worn through till date.

The jackets have been proven to be durable and reliable simply from sheer abuse. Many senior members are aware of and can vouch for this, since they themselves have participated in the prototyping, development and field testing/abusing phase of this product. It is not without reason that so many from Chennai XBhp use the product.

I would suggest that you verify the facts before reacting to hearsay.

On a different note, if you are looking for a once in a lifetime buy that will never wear out, I would suggest a leather jacket which provides the ultimate protection and durability. I'm afraid though that the jacket would outlast both your helmet (which is the same model I used when I was in college 24 years ago) and your knee guards which I'm sorry to tell you are fake.

              Cheers!

Jacket - i am happy to know that it had gone through prototype testing in chennai then definitely will take a look in the store directly and this is the review which i went so had a doubt in my mind Riding Gear suggestions My budget is very constraint so cannot afford to buy a leather jacket Max 6k only. What about Odysseus jacket whether it will be manageable for chennai climate.
Knee guards- i know it is fake but to provide basic protection i am planning to go for.Still i remember a hockey shin pads costs rs.500/- which can withstand any brutal hit by the ball.So at least i think so it will meet my expectation to provide safety.

The Odyyseus is too hot to wear in regular Chennai weather IMO but that's a personal observation and many guys do wear it in Chennai.

incidentally, I did meet the second guy in the picture recently - he is also a member of Chennai Xbhp and asked me a similar thing about wear near the pockets, until I pointed out that the Velcro straps on his elbow adjustment were incorrectly fastened and therefore pulling and rubbing against the material. Even then the rough Velcro was causing piling of the fabric and not tears.
