Riding shoes are mainly for protection and comfort at the same time, it's not that one aspect dwarfs the another, both go hand in hand. But yes riding boots are prime for protection.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Got a cold ride coming up. Have an octane and a scoyco. But for a 2k km trip i'm dicey about the scoyco and keen on using the octane instead. A winter liner available separately for the octane? I only hve the rain liner as if now.
If you are not afraid, you have probably chosen too easy a mountain to climb!!

You only get rain liner, which acts duo as a rain/wind cheater. You don't get winter liner separately specficially for Octane. You can perhaps purchase some good jumpers separately and wear them on the inside.

I don't think Spartan's mesh is that bad, it's like as every other mesh jackets out there. Agree on the Rage's armor part, it's just brightly colored and very soggy and I personally wouldn't even consider that as an armor. But Helios is worn by many of my friends, and so far it's a thumbs up,nothing significantly degrading or souped up. Just a mesh as it's supposed to be

Buddy, you say that you "heard", which means hearsay, right?

I suggest that you actually contact several users of the HELIOS, which today spec-for-spec is by far the most VFM mesh jacket available at its price point. I personally use one which is over 2 years and 30 thousand Kms old, and I also know of many riders whose jackets are as old, with no complaints at all. Wear and tear is part of the ageing process of any garment and some people wear out stuff faster than others because of the way they handle it.

If you hear of a one-off story where the wear is extreme but hear many others where they swear by the product, then I would treat the one-off as a stray case.

I recently met a biker who was cursing his misfortune at having bought an Arai Helmet and I was genuinely surprised since I have always thought that Arai is one of the best available. The surprise continued only till I saw him handling it - banging it around, and even dropped it while having a smoke! When I pointed out that the helmet was being abused, his reply was that a piece of safety equipment should be rugged enough to take it, leaving me speechless!

Incidentally, the armor on the HELIOS is genuine CE rated moulded turtle-type armour and the whole product is warranted against any manufacturing defects for six months from purchase - another first in India!

Go for Cramster Breezer for pure VFM proposition.

The cost is more or less the same. You get added thermal liner, plus rugged build on the exterior in the Breezer, which acts as an all-weather jacket.

                      Cheers!

No review as of yet for these jackets. I saw them a couple of days back in Facebook. I think these are the first in India, LS2 Apparel. But I would suggest, you to purchase it and then post a review, how does that proposition seem!

                            Cheers!

                              • Yeah, would love to know where it will be available, i'm also on a jacket and gloves hunt.
So pretty much interested, but seeing its not a fully mesh jacket, i'm kinda wondering how good it'll be in the summers.

P.S: Do LS2 really manufacture jackets and stuff ? I thought they were only helmets.

                                Cheers
