The material used to construct a jacket is more or less nylon or polyester mixed. If there is a rip, it can be mended with the same material. But mind you, once a surface is ripped, it's structural integrity is literally halved or even dramatically reduced. Say if you patch work on a jacket, and god forbid if you happen to crash at the same spot, it will rip to threads. It's just that "once piece integrity" is lost. More or less like a windshield. If you know what I mean.Originally posted by sidmclaren View PostHello All
Can anybody please suggest me about my Riding Jacket Issue?
My jacket DSG got stuck to a metal hook and it has torn near back (below shoulder) on RHS,
Is there any way to stitch it?
Thanks
Edit
PS:- Can anybody suggest a Place in Pune where they might carry out repair/stitching will it be effective?
my Jacket is barely a year old.
People who stitch bags, or manufacture bags small scale can do the work, as the more or less the same material is used to make bags.

Yes, it's better to go for something local branded and genuine rather than a faked one in eBay. But truth told, I myself have used lots of fakes, knowing it's a fake.Originally posted by xtremevicky View PostYup thanks.
Cramster has a few for 200 bucks. Will get a couple.
Cheers!

Too bad Auto gear has never kicked off.
Anyways, Saw Zara rider jacket. Must better in style to DSG Nero and of same money. Seriously considering it.

Exactly. If you're a frequent buyer from a seller, and he/she knows you better, and communication is more or less trouble-free. But make sure you know what you're upto, oodles of fakes and though the pick looks cool, the end product will completely differ from what's shown. You will find "TAG" inside the jacket, which clearly explains how to take care of them. Read though them, once you get them. It's more or less the same as we do our normal clothes, with a little extra caution. But for the most part, you will find the instructions for care in the jacket tag.Originally posted by roks2408 View PostHi Guys,
I am planning to buy A* mesh jacket + gloves, probably T-GP Plus from PlanetDSG @ Pune and immediately after that will take it for a ride
Can you suggest me how should I take care of these safety gears ?
If you have any more doubts, shoot a question here.
Cheers!

Mate, what kin d of damage are you talking about ? Was it a fall ? If then i think replacing the whole jacket would be the right thing to do.
And about getting the armor individually , i'm not sure if that's possible. but i think a* has armors like those, upgradeable ones, but size might differ, also don't know if it comes as elbow and shoulder armor, back and chest protectors are there.
Cheers

If your pads are damaged, the textile shell too should have either been evaporated or scraped during the slide which could cause the armor to get even more scraped and become useless. If that's the case, then you can contact Bachoo Motors themselves for a good replacement armor. Because some jackets have short armor and some have long, different manufacturer have different armor, though they are CE certified, the armor pocket, length and width differ.Originally posted by karan.gohil View PostHi,......I hv rjays swift jacket......n shoulder n elbow pads are damaged.....wanted to buy any brands removable shoulder n elbow pads.........any suggestions frm whr can I get it in mumbai????????
If you can get the same type of armor from elsewhere and you're sure, take your jacket along with it and check how the armor sits in the pockets.
In Mumbai, get it sourced from the resellers.
Cheers!
