-because i didnt not get an original AGV (not the MPA ones) fitting my head. the ones at orion were good but sizing didnt match at all. were whitin budget of 7-8k.

and KBC's were out of my budget at that time and i had no idea where to get one from. maybe ill be able to have one by end of next year

i really needed a helmet urgently because the one previously was really a stupid buy on my part (was loose, used to sway in heavy winds )

oh yes people gave me weird stares in the city as if i was some .... terminator man or something deadly
I guess you meant needed and not need! How good is the Dajiya? I am hopelessly waiting for a good helmet.... I might BUY a AGV tomorrow! and my dad will throw me out of the house for being such an impulsive buyer

Jokes apart, I am really planning to hunt for a good helmet sub 8k range... I heard Dajiya is good, but I have no clue about them! Would be nice to hear your say on this!

smelly DSG nero jacket is more of an issue to me
Uggh let me guess... DSG Nero?

Wear it on a summer day... and you will become Neer Oh! they have a nice mesh jacket in stores, but wonder why they dont put that up online!
    (Bobbykick had it)

So switch to a mesh for avoiding sweaty rides.... I use a Shift Airborne... plan to buy a couple of them and sell them here now

at first i used to think that Daijya was a show off stunt with all the fancy graphics. Then i once had 12k in hand to buy a new jacket, helmet n gloves. I decided to give daijya a try. since i found the gpr's .. not upto the mark i wanted it to be.

I picked the size L at orion motors in bangalore and pushed it on my head. it took me some effort to get my head inside the helmet. Man i never thought a helmet could be this snug.

and about the "daijya" controversy, well i consider it b.s really. the shell is sturdy but not RIGID . a proper helmet has to be lil (not plastic like though) flexible so that it can disperse the shock better all over to the helmet and thus minimising the impact by reducing the force/area (called impulse i think)

and yes if buying boots online is risky, helmets is even more riskier. Order the wrong one and your protection is at stake at large. no point whether its an ARAI or AGV or KBC... it has to be tight but not stressful.

the inner lining is top class. it hasnt compressed or reduced in thickness. and i use it everytime i start my bike to go even to a nearby 2km place. I dont ride without it (actually i cant ) and easily washable. just dont keep it soaked too long in mild detergent water or it'd lose its properties and become slack.

the weight factor of the daijya is there. it is heavier than the GPR's or Vega by a good 300-400 grams . (nearly half a kilo) it weighs 1.609 kgs to be exact.

finish is ultimate. and it can handle abuse. the vents can easily break in case of mishandling. but the artwork doesnt get scratched off that easily. mine is utterly abused but it still looks new.

DAIJYA's are on sale in Pune DSG store

btw my friend in pune bought the daijya red dragon for only 4k with a mercury tinted visor

its cause DSG will bring in Marushin helmets from next year onwards. this is probably to clear up the daijya stock. although no worries since the spares (lining and visors) will be the exact same as the marushin's .. although you could wait for the marushins to arrive but i dunno when they'd come and at what pricing they'd be sold.

      jackets

well thing is you win some and you lose some ... mesh jackets are good but not waterproof (at least DSG ones), and putting a windcheater over a jacket as huge as this would be a big task. so that's a no no.

so tolerate the heat and .. the manly fumes eminating from the jacket .

i had originally targeted a fieldsheer congo textile jacket but the import duty and shipping sent it to 11k from 6k couldnt afford that much.

p.s thanks for the grammatical correction it changes the viewpoint about daijya completely hehe

AFAIK that sale is already over, i repeatedly tried getting in touch with MR.Vijay of DSG but..

And the Sale Price for the helmet was 3.5 k, but i think that must be with plain visor.

All Mesh jackets come with an inner weather proof liner... and good brand jackets always provide you full water-proofing with the lining put-on. But with the DSG Maze-Mesh jacket, which fails to provide water-resistance is a big letdown.

          • @Bandhav
its already over ? hmmm... although i wonder it would be better if one personally goes to the store outlet in pune.

btw Satish (onlinesatish) said that DSG is no longer shipping helmets indivdually. you can still pick up the helmet at the DSG store personally. they arent shipping because there have been cases of helmets getting damaged in transit.

            @chetanpulsar
ah yes i shouldn't have generalised all mesh jackets. Corrected in post.

I have the fieldsheer too ... its a very good jacket, but with strange arm size... I mean my forearm (jacket) width is as wide as my arms are in the jacket! Thats like something made for Popeye!!!

But then again its a mini oven too without the liner as well!

I suggest you buy a rain suit as well, wearing a rain suit is much more easier than the wind cheater

              • you HAVE a fieldsheer !! lucky you

although the fitting seems really odd as described by you ... as if there are many popeye type riders who need such a jacket.

btw even your jacket is an oven. hmmmm .

I am guessing you had someone to bring it without duties **sigh**

next on the buying list is a good set of saddlebags. and those have to be the cramster's .
