Thats not true Vijay, I have the OGIO Mach 3 which I use occasionally when I ride into the city (very rarely) and its probably the most aerodynamic pack Ive ever seen. Superlative build quality and such a snug fit that you sometimes wonder if you have anything on your back. But of course as you pointed out, expensive and only necessary if you ride a really fast bike - which on our roads is moot. But sexxxxyyyy looking thing!

OGIO vs Cramster! I'd be goddamned. I saw you wearing it, and it was more or less perfectly aligned to the body shape, but just a tad larger, which definitely should give you improved aerodynamics as opposed to something flanging side by side when you ride because the fit is so perfectly aligned to the body, it should definitely give you the upper edge.

Of course sir, as you've rightly pointed, I suggested Laplace 2.0 just out of practicality and feasibility to carry around.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Sunnyside_up! : got a mail from spartan support team saying they are out of stock at the moment & replenishments are expected by end of June. Ive requested them to intimate me when that happens. Will wait for their revert. Again... thank you for ur kind help. The feeling that there is a pant that might fit me, is very comforting ;-)

shahbaz63 : this is fyi pls. If u r in the 'M' size, then the oshiwara outlet had a camouflaged pattern of this with them... saw it in person today noon.

Thanks for your opinions guys. I ride a ninja 250r to office and have to carry a laptop. Luckily the road to my office is such that I can ride decently fast as per ninja standards and hence face a lot of drag issues. I have a turtle laptop bag which is now more than 8 yrs old and it works fine but is aging out. I tried a normal laptop bag and faced a lot of drag and my shoulders were aching within 8 kms of ride. Hence I am looking for another bag which could replace my present turtle bag.
Sunnyside_up!: Any advice on the comparison between mach 1, 3 and 5. I can get a mach 5 for $130. Is the mach 5 worth the extra money?

@Sunnyside_up! : i've already posted a request on Spartan ProGear | Contact us - i am almost 6ft & have a waist [waste] of 42~44? [albeit i wear jeans of waist 38 rather comfortably]
any idea if there is a Spartan Odysseus Pants to fit me in to or do i eat the humble pie [or rather a domino's pizza] & simply continue to use knee-guards instead?
any pointers pls? :-)

Did you try Cramster's Laplace backpack/helmet bag? Seriously one heck of a bag with helmet holder and just fits the right stuff required for a biker on a day to day basis. OGIO is pretty costly and sunnyside_up! uses one of their hydration backpack. And I don't think (to my knowledge) you get anywhere here in India. But has very good followers abroad. But I'd suggest you try the Laplace 2.0.

Cheers!

I honestly don't know what the difference is between the Mach 3 and Mach 5. I think it's only cosmetic but could be wrong. The Mach 3 holds a laptop comfortably ( upto 14-15 inches I think) but since I use only a pad, can't be sure of the size. If I remember correctly, the Mach 1 does not have an indentation for helmet, which could foul with the top of the bag in a full crouch - that's why I like the 3. I think the 5 has it too. I'm not sure if it will make sense at all in the Indian context, since mine was a gift from a close buddy in Dubai who rides a 675 Daytona to work. I happened to borrow his bike and bag for a week while attending a convention there last year and loved it so much that he gave it to me as a present - the bag, not the bike . I've never found the same utility in India though. I can say however though that it looks amazing and has a serious drool quotient.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In a universe of men and machines, there is an individual who achieves the purest confluence of both worlds where he and the machine must become one - He is The Biker!

Hahaha!! The biker's spark, apparent there. Oh please don't even get me started on the Daytona part.

Just an OT on your OGIO: Drool quotient, nah! Sexy, hell yea!!

Since B7ACKTHORN suggested Laplace 2.0 based on practicality and feasibility ( especially considering that helmet holder attachment), i think the Icon Squad 2 Mil Spec Backpack is also pretty much practical but dunno maybe costly at $145. Check out it's video review at
i liked the way it has holding capacity for both jacket & helmet

BTW the OGIO mach3/5 is definitely a sexy backup :P

Sunny, could you please post a short review of the Ogio? Few pics on how it accommodates full-face lid and other gear would be really insightful.

Finally got the DSG Rage in the courier today. Incidentally, when I had ordered size XXL from Chopra in Delhi, they had taken down the order without a hitch. I received XL. Turns out there is no XXL for the Rage. Called up the Planetdsg fellas and they told me they would talk to Chopra now. Let's see what transpires. All I have is one query. Would the Rage,as it is a mesh and cordura jacket, shrink on usage? If it does, then I would have no other way out other than to make DSG or Chopra replace this or refund the money under legal compulsion. If it won't,then as it fits me perfectly right now,I won't be changing it anytime soon.
I beg and grovel infront of the senior members to clear this up.

Nah, this ain't those cotton tee shirt type, where you wash and it shrinks and you get the fit. Nylon material mostly are perfectly fit for the use. They expand slightly when they are *worn* and become soggy and soft. But that takes a while.
