Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
My friend has a pair of Falco axis 2 sports boots. I have used them more than him :P It's pretty good. No discomforts during long rides, have ridden 900 kms in one day with it. Absorbs vibes well, nicely padded for comfort, easy to wear, waterproof.Originally posted by paradoxx View Post

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
As of now I have tried SOL, Ls2 & MT. I prefer MT over the other two. I don't prefer SOL just cuz of the graphics but they are equally good in terms of quality with MT.Originally posted by hmunjal View PostSman999 which brand you prefer than??
I used to be a fan of LS2. The first helmet ff350 I bought in chennai was for rs.2200 in 2011. Look at the price now. In fact I still own a LS2. I had two and my friend took one from me.
Cons of LS2:
-Bad rachet
-Easily scratch able visor
-Very bad quality padding
-No proper warranty (at least not in all the places u buy)
-The visor, even after lifted fully blocks your field of view to a certain amount. You can live with it but still it's a drawback when compared to other two.Ride Safe!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I'm looking at the Oxegen 2 boots, they are priced at 12.7k and come with toe sliders, the best thing - stores in Pune stock them and I can wear and check them out. The other option are Sidi B2 or TCX S-zero. Any advice?Originally posted by sman999 View PostMy friend has a pair of Falco axis 2 sports boots. I have used them more than him :P It's pretty good. Even I have my eyes on the Sidi and TCX casual mid ankle riding boots. No idea about them though. As far as warranty is concerned better to go with Falco. The toe sliders are available for repair in case of a fall.Originally posted by paradoxx View PostI'm looking at the Oxegen 2 boots, they are priced at 12.7k and come with toe sliders, the best thing - stores in Pune stock them and I can wear and check them out. I want a boot that looks casual. I might end up buying a leather boot again rather than a proper riding boot(I use a suede leather casual mid ankle boot). No riding boot in India is like TCX square or sidi gas boots. I really like the RE oil pull leather boots.Ride Safe!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
hello friends
i just replace my old armors with sas-tec level 2 armors for better safety. as all of us knows very well about this but still i am writing this
because i feel it needed to update your armors with such a quality protectors. protectors are very soft if you squeeze it & again
it takes its real shape & it adjusts as per your body. even while riding the back protector takes that curve shape as per your back movement. I will recommend this all our fellow friends for better safety. image is attached but not that much clear.
price
elbow pair 830
shoulder pair 730
back protector 1300
all are level 2 armors.
i purchase this from below solace website

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Yeah I checked them. I prefer the basic puma riding shoes(forgot the model, costs Rs.6290 in motosport) than that. Well designed and stylish. I don't like the back end of the adv breed ankle length boots. Also the TCX and sidi has lace which makes them look cool & more casual. Sidi gas is expensive and TCX X square is not available in most sites.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostHave you considered the TBG Ankle Length boots? Seem pretty decent.
Waterproofing in shoes are of no use unless u wear a waterproof pants. I'll stick to denims no matter what so I'm not looking for Waterproofing as a must feature but as an added advantage. So my heart says I'll end up with a full length leather boot :PRide Safe!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Everyday use I would recommend - Rynox Asphalt Jacket. It is porbably the most light weight jacket available out there. Inspite of the light weight your protection is no compromised as it has Knox Armors in it.Originally posted by nirbhayabhi View PostI wanted to buy two jackets for two different usages.. one light, full mesh for ventilation, bare min reqd protection for city.
And a jacket with better protection.little heavy, with inners for rains.

Anyone here who is happy with his jacket in B2B traffic in daily commute ? Which jacket ?
And for the heavier jacket do you preffer a Textile Jacket or a Mesh Jacket ?

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I am happy with my ADV BREED jacket. It's a bit heavy but who said city crash is less serious than a highway one. However I would suggest that you buy the alpinestar first and just buy the nucleon armor for the back and chest (cost 3k +2k) when out in the highway. For cold protection get a inner warmer ( Decathlon has some good options). I have seen reviews which says alpinestar wind liner works very good. You should try it to believe it though. Basically wear the inner warmer first and then wear the jacket for a snug fit. ADV breed has a warm liner but I don't think it can keep the cold outside long enough.Originally posted by nirbhayabhi View PostI wanted to buy two jackets for two different usages.. one light, full mesh for ventilation, bare min reqd protection for city.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
i've been using probiker for 3 months now as I couldn't find suitable gloves that I was comfortable in.
Finally found the Scorpion SGS Gloves ... costed me $55 on Revzilla. I ordered a size small as I measure 8.5 around the palm and I went by Revzilla sizing chart rather than the manufacturers. They fit like a 'glove' :-P
I got a free set of decals along with the Gloves ... so its a win win. The Revzilla went on the windscreen.
Unlike my probiker these are not road use and are very technical... they have a very agressive pre-curve as you can see from the pictures. It will be that straightening your fingers will be a problem. I have to stretch a fair bit to get to the horn. Otherwise I think its fine.
The top construction is all cowhide with TPS for the knuckles and super fabric armor plated panels for the digits. It is a 10X more abrasion resistant then cowhide and very durable.
The palm is Kangaroo skin which is very light and very strong. As with all composites, the fit will be a bit odd as cowhides breaks in a bit more free than Kangaroo skin. But the glove is very breathable and there is no issue with sweating of palms. There is Kevlar patch for palm protection. The stitching is Kevlar out stitching on the palm and fingers to eliminate inner seam.
There are knox protectors for the thumb as well as scaphoid protection as well.
For the city it is a bit of overkill and I agree ... the black/white/red is too flashy .... but I'm like a Magpie ... I like flashy. It'll go good with what ever black/white/red jacket I decide to get in the near future :-P
They are bedding in fine. I think the pre-curve will take some getting used to but I guess its ok. If it doesn't work then I'm back to the Probiker gloves. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Someone is always travelling ... best part of being in IT :-P A client ordered it for me as they accept US cards only (or maybe I'm dumb and couldn't figure out otherwise) .. and a friend carried it home.Originally posted by somenath1061 View PostDid you get them shipped someone in US got this one for you? Yes, they have Kangaroo leather palm while the rest is cowhide.Last edited by Naveen Vajja; 02-24-2016, 04:22 PM.When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

How's the ventilation in them? Have heard they have zero ventilation and not meant for summer useOriginally posted by Naveen Vajja View PostSomeone is always travelling ... best part of being in IT :-P A client ordered it for me as they accept US cards only (or maybe I'm dumb and couldn't figure out otherwise) .. and a friend carried it home.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
The only ventilation is from the punctures on the side of fingers and the vent behind the TPU. I don't have a problem with that ... I used to riding with a leather jacket in summer.Originally posted by paradoxx View PostHow's the ventilation in them? Have heard they have zero ventilation and not meant for summer use
But after using this I feel .... the Probikers let quite a lot of air in and they feel like i'm wearing something. These fit so well, it feels like an extension if not for the ridiculous pre-curve. This is the only negative in this glove.
Review by Anthony from Revzilla ... this guy is awesome. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Starting with a BIG THANKS to Spartan Ares, a riding glove that has protected me for last 60000 Km!! (no extra zero, its sixty thousand); by saying this, I'm only on conservative side despite the fact its been 70000 Km; I'm discarding the last 10000 Km odd Km just because it had started showing the symptoms of giving up. The gloves was good enough to spare me with just a wrist bone fracture in 2013. Despite all that, IMHO, Spartan Ares is kind of benchmark to all gloves in local market, a very super VFM product.
So the next question comes as why not another Ares? Two main things...
1. Urge to explore other brands
2. I'm in little hurry to get one amidst of several other work
So took a chance (risk) to buy another gloves. After my experience with Rynox AirGT...I'm little apprehensive; though my friends were suggesting TBG, I'm reserving it for my next shopping. So the only option known & left to me is from Bikingbrotherhood.
I'm fully aware that they make replicas of any brand & they claim their 20 years of experience with race track, I decided to try them; I also had a chance to see their BB Ladakh jacket & their armors, definitely better than Rynox AirGT. I got M size & the fitting is superb, not as good as my A* but fits my hands as good as Spartan Ares. But will it last long & compete with Spartan Ares? Only time will tell until then...
Thanking old companion
