Guys, I've bought the Rynox tornado pro and Rynox advento riding pants after recommendation from all thankful members on this forum, They serve their purpose quite well, fit and finish are good apart from the Velcro straps on the elbows which gets loose often.
Now i 'm planning to get riding jacket, knee/shin guards for my wife, My budget is within 10k. Any suggestions please.

Rain will cause problem obviously as no water proof but I am expecting it can last for at least one year or more (how many trip I will do in rain ) .

            here is the pic .
            its better than sneakers

but I dont think this is Boot, Its just a work shoe.

What about the ankle protection and shin protection.
This is a low cut shoe (not boot) which are known to come out in case of accidents, ankle height boots and shin high boots do not come out easily.

It will offer 0 protection as they may not stay when they are most needed. plus the laces can get stuck in gears/brakes/footpegs.

            good luck
Why ride fully covered in Riding gear on a hot Summer ? Because road rash from hot asphalt hurts more than sweat

              Thanks for feedback buddy .

Actually I got this because I felt better than orzo coot boot (most shouted cheap riding boot here ).

It has steel toe, anti slip sole with upper part made of leather.

it's a safety shoe built for more rough use than bike riding.

It's ankle length shoe so I have confidence on them when I put on .

Yes, there might be issue with laces but there is extra provision , if used carefully you can use the provision to tie the laces safely [emoji4].

Have done Bangalore -chikmaglur trip with it and they did not disappoint me. I was afraid of gear shift but it was fine .

I still would suggest this one instead of coot for better product and look.

Obviously it has no competition with proper riding boots [emoji1] .

              Cheers ?

              • Need help in choosing riding gear

                Hello Team,

I recently bought a KTM RC 390 and have been looking to upgrade my riding gear as with this machine i feel that i need more protection. I am really confused with what to choose from and where to choose from. My budget is 4k to 5k for gloves and 8k for riding jacket. Can someone suggest an online reliable portal or any shop in Delhi ncr who sell gears at correct prices(Not the overpriced ones). I am currently located in gurgaon.

Please Google Ankle high work boots.

you are missing my whole point.
I know your work shoe has leather, steel caps, hard sole etc etc. yes that is why it is WORK SHOE and that is what makes it better than a sneakers or sports shoe.

but it is a low ankle cut shoe.
Please understand that Low cut shoes are known to come off easily when the foot twists in case of a fall. you can check this, ask any of your friend to try and twist your boot to take it out, a low cut boot will easily come out as compared to a Shin high or an ankle high boot. The impact and drag of the road crash may be much larger.
Once it comes out the steel toe cap or the leather will be as good as non existent, it will be the skin vs road.

This comes out from the experience of bikers areound the world in different forums that i have seen, there are several bike crash videos on youtubes too that show this. (e.g. http://advrider.com/index.php?thread...-boots.375767/ )

my second point was regarding the protection of Shin and Ankle. A proper riding boot will have arrangements to save these. Statistically (Src: HURT study) legs are most hurt part of the bikers body and a Protruding ankle is generally most easily injured part of the leg. If you are overlooking this for cost or whatever reasons, please remember these and ride accordingly. you cannot expect mercy to ankle or shin while wearing a work shoe.

Please take care when you suggest this to newbies, they should know what they are getting into. if you are aware and even then decide to wear work shoe instead of work boot or a Proper riding boot then at least you are making a risky decision but informed decision. Good Luck with that.

In case you are wondering I have Alpinestars Toucan boots.
                  cheers

I got the points and really glad to know your concern . really appreciate that [emoji106] .

Please do not consider this as argument.
Suggestion part was for orzo coot boot(same design as work shoe but people are opting this) and I feel this (JCB) work shoe is better. No way I am gonna stop anybody from buying proper riding boot and would suggest JCB.

Searched the ankle length boot and glad to know 95% shoes were of same height as mine [emoji12] , though I am not confirming it totally safe .

I know what I am wearing as safety and do not try to act foolish on road.
Thanks for pointing out to be careful .

You know, there is always compromise that's what the reality is.

I know my bike will be launched with ABS (safer) but I bought basic.

I know racing suits are better than leather jackets and lather jackets are better than mesh ones but I bought mesh.
There are helmets having more price (safe) than many bikes here in India but I am using MT.

I do keep in mind what I have put on.
I have experienced the falls and collision on bike(before) and I know how it hurts .

I would request you to visit the links I had shared for both boot. I am sure what I have bought is not work shoe but boot .I would appreciate your time if you could give your feedback about other shoe compared to JCB. May be I can buy that if more safe .

You really have made good choice having alpinestars. Glad to know [emoji106] .

Thought of buying better knee guard( too use with ankle high boot) that can save shin too.
Would like to know your view .

                    Cheers.

Good choice ! Tornado Pro is one of the best jacket out there.
For Knee/Shin gaurd try the Mototech Bulwark if you want the long ones (it may be a problem incase of long boots), short ones you can try out the cramster knee gaurds (they have launched these new ones) which has 2014 CE certification as mentioned on their website.

I saw your links with 2 boots. the pictures are not good enough to comment, you should wear both and decide.
Safety shoes or work shoes or work boots are not designed for riding, but for factory working. That said Work shoe are still better than a Nike/Puma sport shoe due to strong sole, toebox. The best option is to get a proper riding boot >10-12k. remember some cheap riding boot offer little extra protection as compared to safety shoes.

For everyone's benefit here are the imp things to look for when choosing a riding boot.

                        1. Strong Toe box for toe protection, gear change.
                        1. Riding boots use Composite plastic -> Bigger and better
                        2. Safety shoes use steel toe -> smaller stronger Heavy
                        3. Sports shoes use fabric -> zero protection.

                        2. Heel box for heel region.
                        1. Riding boots use Composite plastic -> Bigger and better
                        2. Safety shoes use leather (or little plastic) -> little protection
                        3. Sports shoes use fabric -> zero protection.

                        3. Thick and strong Sole
                        1. Riding boots use special material and sole is almost flat -> strong and comfortable gear shift
                        2. Safety shoes use special material with taller heel and groove -> strong
                        3. Sports shoes use rubber -> twists and turns zero protection.

4 Laces can get caught in gear levers/foot pegs leading to tipping and falling
                        1. Riding boot -> No lace
                        2. Safety shoes use big laces -> dangerous unless careful.
                        3. Sports shoes use big laces -> dangerous unless careful.

                        5. Taller boots (shin high) do not easily come out during accident.
                        1. Riding boot -> shin high
                        2. Safety shoes -> ankle or low cut. dangerous
                        3. Sports shoes -> mostly low cut, dangerous.

                        6. Ankle Protection. Ankle injuries are easiest to get and worst.
                        1. Riding boots use Composite plastic or alloy -> Bigger and better
                        2. Safety shoes use leather (or little padding) -> little protection
                        3. Sports shoes use open ankle-> zero protection.

                        7. Shin Protection. shin injuries are common.
                        1. Riding boots use TPU or Composite plastic or alloy -> Bigger and better
                        2. Safety shoes -> zero protection
                        3. Sports shoes -> zero protection.

8 Waterproof, India is the land of rivers and potholes. this is important.
                        1. Riding boots waterproof -> comfortable. (if goretex then no sweat)
                        2. Safety shoes use leather-> sweaty and uncomfortable
                        3. Sports shoes use fabric-> breathable but uncomfortable when wet.

9 shin high Thermal lining on the inner side of the shoe to save from hot engine/ silencer
                        1. Riding boots thermal plastic ->safe
                        2. Safety shoes use leather or nothing -> little or no protection
                        3. Sports shoes -> zero protection.

                        1. Riding boots are expensive but worth the risk of riding. suggestion do not buy anything cheaper than ₹10-12k.
                        2. Work boots, safety shoes are cheaper compromise but know the risk. -> Suggestion : Bata Endura High cut. costs ₹1200-1400
                        3. sports shoe, chappals, sandals, barefoot, are almost same and dangerous.

Hey guys I am planning on buying a pair of semi gauntlet gloves and I am confused between solace icon gloves, zeus spider gloves, and aspida centaur gloves(least preference since highest cost). Has anyone used either of them and could review them?
Also what are the pros of a full gauntlet over the semi gauntlet? Are they worth the additional cost? And which of the following is the best among them?

Full gauntlet = more coverage = more protection.
Also, full gauntlet will take the cuffs of your riding jacket inside its long sleeve and will give you a much safer feel.

For touring and weekend rides these gloves are much preferable.
If you're going to use it in daily wear, it's a pain in ass to remove it and wear again & again. And be ready for some heat too.
Wearing a full gauntlet gloves takes time.
                              No other cons.

A semi-gauntlet or short glove on the other hand is more of a quick wear and remove thing.
So can be easily used for daily.
First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal
