The protectors aren't same at all. Go for a mesh jacket being in Delhi.

Read - only the certification level of the protectors is same. They come from different manufacturers and have very different coverage area.

Go through this thread and you can make a better choice at the end of the day. Goodluck.

Hey petroheads, this is my first post here so be gentle and also correct me where I’m wrong.

Just a few details about me:

I own a Bullet UCE 500 in Delhi. Though I use it only for long rides and not for short daily commutes. I wanted to buy a riding jacket and upgrade my riding gloves to full gauntlet leather gloves. I was happily looking at Rynox Stealth Evo 3 as the best option and Aspida Ares Full gauntlet gloves the total being around ₹15-16 k.

But now I’ve seen the Rynox Air GT 3 which also has level 2 protectors and also is half the price. Now I’m confused if I am being extravagant as I’m a student and mostly am studying for my Civil services exam and can go for trips at max twice a year. Although the budget is not a constraint but as they say a penny saved is a penny earned.

Should I invest in big daddy touring jacket or adjust for the city jacket with same protectors?

If you have that budget, please look at HJC or ScorpionEXO. The build quality and what you get for the price will still stun you.

Hi All,

I am planning to upgrade from my 5 Year old SOL helmet, I have rounded the following below based on my budget.

1. MT BLADE 2
2. MT Rapide
3. Vemar Zephir

Can someone please help me in finalizing out of these 3 I am also open to options in this range till 15k tops. Including spare visor as well.

Purpose: Touring and Short distance rides. Not for daily commutes.

I am leaning towards Vemar especially for their broad view port. Thanks in advance.

Get the HJC.
SPG sells Pinlock 30 for Vemar for 3000.
(which is by the way same as SMK pin30 because pinlock only makes one design)

The pin30 for SMK costs ₹500.

The pin30 for SMK costs ₹500.

What about MT atom pinlock, does it also have any generic ones available in the market or some other brand using the same pinlock at low cost.

HJC FG has a fiberglass shell whereas vemar zephir is polycarbonate shell.a big deciding factor,and on top of it, I guess HJC FG ST shares the same shell as FG 17 which is Snell certified. I would say just go for HJC FG ST.

No generic ones are not available. Atom uses Pinlock for MT V16 visor. Goodluck

I have been hunting for it, please let me know if you are sure of its availability. I placed a order with MotoCentral yesterday and got a call today saying the ordered size was not available and some system error showed it to be available. They are cancelling and refunding my order.

Under this budget, your best bet is Raida Tourbine, comes with Sastec L2 protectors on arms, you will have to buy a CE approved back protector later, comes with chest protector pockets too. Both back and chest come with foam protectors from factory. Costs ₹7500. This is what I have been using with added back protector. All protectors Sastec.

If you can, I would recommend increasing your budget a little.

Take a look at Rynox Tornado 3 and Solace Sabre.

Both get Ce level 2 protectors on arms and back. While Rynox uses Knox on arms and Safetech on back, Solace goes with Powertector at both arms and back.

It's all a give or take decision, while Rynox has better elbow and shoulder protectors, Solace has 1000D cordura at elbows and shoulders. You can't go wrong with either of these in real world usage.

Solace has foam protectors on chest, while Rynox also gets a pocket for protectors which you can add later. Solace has a back pocket for hydration bladder, Rynox has a Sorona thermal liner.

Rest of it is mostly similar, except that Solace gets an external rain liner, Rynox gets an internal one. Both can be worn as standalone jackets.

Now you pick, what looks better. Rynox comes at ₹8350, Solace at ₹8250. Looks are everyone's personal perspective.

Ps I recommend buying jackets with known and higher quality protectors.

All the gear is good to go, also glad you are spending less on the knee guard for now. Looks like a clear plan to get pants next.

Also since you are buying from one place, also try the Rynox Tornado gloves, they have sliders and gloves with sliders are totally worth your extra ₹500. Other options are Viaterra Holeshot. (but I assume that won't be available there)
