  • A Poem by T.F.Bhagwagar

I happen to come across this wonderful poem by T.F.Bhagwagar hailing from Pune in the December 2009 issue of Bike India.

    COST OF SAFETY GEAR

    For safe and secure biking
    There really is no doubt
    A good helmet is something
    You just can't do without

    A set of expensive leathers
    Is not for everyone
And will make you sweat rivers
In the heat of the blazing Sun

    A well-lined padded jacket
    Is reasonably good protection
Makes you look snazzy and cool
    Part of the happening action

A pair of good fitting gloves
    Will save you from road-rash
And keep your hands and fingers safe
In the event of a crash

Denim jeans are surely a must
To shield you from wind and weather
And sturdy boots with tough thick soles
    Hold the ensemble together

With all these gear, I hear you ask
    What more do I need?
I'll go and wring the throttle hard
    Cruise happily at high speed

Ah! But kindly pause and think
    You do need something more
Like respect for other road users
    And self-discipline for sure

Think it over and you will know
    Your instincts are never wrong
Listen to warnings from your brain
And you will ride safe and long

So isn't it crystal clear now
    I'm suer you'll all agree?
    The most safety gear is
Your brain, God given, for free.

first of all both jackets are of different kinds,

breezer is mesh no doubt which is means more air ventilation. Where as nero is non mesh. But I am not sure the nero ventilation system can go upto which level as compared to breezer.

Breezer do not have water and cold liner. whereas nero have both.

Recently i have tried DSG maze, breezer and pulse. I found maze as heavier than both. But not sure about the nero.

              • My DSG Maze. Have used DSG Maze and Cramster Pulse. Both wonderful jackets. Maze is slightly heavier than Pulse. Fitting wise, i do not have issues with either of them.

as u own both, how pulse reacts in summers if there is not much difference between two in terms of ventilation. then i feel pulse is a better option. what u say

                            • I am a happy owner of the Cramster Pulse blue jacket , which I opted for after having worn the DSG and Cramster jackets . I feel that the Pulse offers better protection than the Nero and Phoenix jackets..I dunno,it's the feel and finish of the jacket.Besides,I didn't want to give my business to the brusk and indifferent owner of DSG Pune. Also,I don't trust DSG , after the Daijya fiasco . Also, the Motomesh gloves i purchased last year haven't fared very well. I don't see why I should buy anything from DSG.
