        • I am sure this topic has been discussed to death, but can anyone recommend me a good pair of knee protectors + gloves that is not too expensive and at the same time doesn't compromise on the safety.

The gloves specifically should be an all-weather one and should withstand the abuse of the rains. I am not even considering Cramster since all the Cramster gloves I have seen so far has below-par stitching and seems to tear itself pretty easily. The only DSG gloves that sort of fits my bill is the Primal, but it doesn't seem to like getting wet in the rains.

Are AlpineStars Jet any good? Falls under my budget but I am not sure if its a good touring glove.

Another little problem is the fact that I live in Chennai which likes to portray itself as the 'Detroit of India' but has peanuts when it comes to riding gear.

P.S: OT: Need a riding partner to Kerala in September. Will post a more detailed itinerary soon if things fall into place at work.

well i have fallen for shift fury but still i need expert advice from xbhp members
If budget allows you, I would suggest you to go for cramster gloves which will cover your hands properly, will protect them from cold during winters also and they are long lasting too.

Satish , we meet again I am the same guy who is selling of my 220 and buying the RTR just as you did
Regarding Jk-17 , Buddy its a summer Jacket. It is not water proof. I would rather advice you to go for other jackets in Scoyco. Why dont you ask the owner it self. The Guy is very helpful. PM me I will provide with you all possible details.

jk 17 should be ok for hyderabad winter but up here in north you need a warm thermal liner. for summer it has zippered ventilation gaps which are effective only around the shoulder and axillary area.ventilation is same as spike jacket from DSG. for rain , this is water resistant, it can be used for light to moderate rain but not for long. even DSG and cramster products are not 100% waterproof if you are not using the inner thermal liner.

from my experience with DSG. in heavy rain the water seeps in ,till the inner waterproof liner. which means that the jacket is totally wet (including the inner liner but you will be dry). so what's the problem here- once the inner liner and protectors get wet they take their own sweet time to get dry and if they dont dry you become a walking biohazard.

so my advice would be to buy a jacket which you can use in summer ,couple it up with a 300 bucks transparent raincoat(i always keep a raincoat inside my backpack it consumes less space then the inner liner provided by DSG, besides its far more easier to slip a rainjacket over your riding gear.imagine in case of rain taking off the jacket and then fixing the innerliner and then again wearing it).best part is -your jacket is always dry.

for winters i use my breezer with a thermal liner during the day. for night i had to use DSG, but DSG being very bulky, i decided to go for another jacket and hence bought the JK17, if I close the ventilation gaps it act as a windstopper and coupled with a thermal inner inside my shirt i should be comfortable.additionally the collar of JK17 wraps around the whole neck , a boon for winter months.

JK 17 looks and feels exactly like any other jacket from cramster or DSG but with a better armour and a significantly lower price.

for more details you can call up Bhavishya 9910460777

dont go for the brand search if you can find jacket with protectors around knee, elbow, shoulders and spine.... also see if you can get jacket with a removable liner and good air vents because otherwise you wont be able to use it in the summers of India...
