      • Re: Size. It may sound funny, but its not. I am 5' 7" weighing roughly 63 kilos. I find it damn difficult to find proper size as they are always big. Riding jackets are not to be worn like normal jackets, they are meant to hug properly which would be considered tight in a normal jacket. I have seen people buying jacket based on comfort and how they would normally judge size on normal clothing. I consider those loose from riding perspective.

Size "S" is quiet okay for me. A little smaller would be preferable but its the best I can do as the other options are usually bigger.

        • I have tried a DSG jacket today at a local dealer, I felt the jacket was good and nicely built, the size XL was a perfect fit. I am thinking of going for the DSG Maze jacket, as most of my riding is during the day and in full sun, I am also considering the DSG Revive gloves, are these a good choice and how is the fitting of the gloves? according to the chart my hand size is between a medium and a large, I'm pretty sure the medium will be way too small anyone wish to share their experience?

If you are not ordering it. Best thing is to actually try them as different people has different hand shapes like longer/shorter fingers. Example: Even if entire glove size may seems to fit your hand, the thumb may be a little short or long. From my experience, the thumb is the most important part.

I hand this problem with one of my earlier glove. The glove fits perfectly. Though on long continuous rides..say 1+ hour, my thumb begins to hurt as the tip of the glove presses against the tip of my thumb. This may go unnoticed on short rides. But I have been riding daily for more than 1 hour (one way) for several months and the pain became unbearable, so I snip off the tip of the thumbs(the gloves of course). This happened due to gloves being pushed back against your thumb when you lean on the handle bars.

Now I'm using different gloves that has little extra space on the thumbs and face no more issue.

                • I'm planning to buy a new JK-17 jacket soon, but am a bit confused, are there any better jackets under 4k? And one more thing, I know that one does not feel hot in a jacket but do black jackets feel any hotter in summers? Because I wear formals and my black trousers do get really hot in the summer.

Ok I am going to answer my own question here, I have decided to go for the Rjays Octane, the main reason is Knox body armour and the only jacket less than 10k with CE approved back protection, plus lots of ventilation, which I need as most of my riding is during the day, in full sun, was tempted by the DSG Maze and the Rjays Swift, I'm sure either would have been good enough, the Maze has good features such as CE approved armour and leather on the shoulders and the Swift is well made, after reading through the threads, a few minor complaints with the DSG raised some concern, although there is many happy users on the forum and between the swift and the octane, the choice is based purely on the armour, as I do a lot of highway mileasge and high speeds and you never know whats around the corner!

Oh yeah, forgot to ask, would the camo/military Octane jacket look ok an the old red colour R15?
