    1. In a place like Mumbai during summer, there is no jacket in existence that can keep a rider cool. You will still get drench in sweat. I use one of the most mesh, most ventilated jacket available in the market, the Rjays octane. Almost the entire front and back portion of the body is mesh. Meaning if you hold it up, you can see through it. You can't get a more ventilated than that. Yes I have even removed the back armour to improve air flow. I still get drench in sweat. I can't imagine how people manage with full cordura fabric jackets or for that matter leathers with no ventilation or small pockets of ventilation.

    2. Most of these cordura jackets are presented as water proof by sales persons. Its a lie. cordura may resist light rain for a short time, that it. Its simple to know whether a jacket is water proof or not. Water proof gears are made of waterproof materials and most importantly, the seams (stitchings) are sealed. and the front zipper is protected against rain. Even if the material may be rubber coated, but if the seams are not sealed, it will not help much in rain.

I have come across rain wear that are made of actual water proof materials but the seams are not sealed, so a person wearing them will eventually get wet because the water seeps in through the seams.

So if you are on the look out for water proof jacket, make sure the material is water proof (try to blow through it. there should be 0% of air passing through) and check whether the seams are sealed. Very important.

    3. I feel, The most suitable jacket one can come across for a place like in Mumbai like the one ...ahem..I have. Its not the best, but its the most practical, considering I have to bear with extreme heat, extreme rain and relatively cold weather with reasonable protection. As already mentioned above, the mesh construction addresses the heat. The removable inner liner is fully water proof with sealed seams and is not a mere claim, but tested extensively in rain. It also addresses the cold weather.

However I am looking for the below mentioned Jacket & Gloves.
    Please throw some light, friends.

see i ordered goods worth 14000/- and again if the amount is less than 15000/- INR they can send the goods as gift in which there are no custom hassles at all.

They took around 3 weeks to deliver the product. In fact i observed people staying in Chennai received 3 days before i got my goods.

You can alternatively use iccworld, i have used them recently, to import some tools from the US, one package was 8ft long, which caused problems with their usual courier within India, but found the staff helpfull and actually returned calls to me, got my products even though a slight delay, I wasn't fussed about the delay and I kind of guessed it would happen due to the size of the tool everything came fully intact, which was my main concern.
They gave an online quote, the products I ordered cost around 15000 plus US mainland shipping, by quote was around 19500, inclusive of US mainland shipping, international shipping and from Bombay to Goa and duty/customs clearance, I was ok with the quote and ordered, they give the option of paying into their bank, as I don't use credit cards, it helped.
hey, but if we import anything below 10K will we not have to pay any custom duty?? and what is the % of duty to pay for goods like jackets etc??

It's all hit and miss with Indian customs, if marked as a gift, my understanding is that it shouldn't be a problem below the value of 10k or maybe 15k as mentioned above. personaly I have some one carry stuff when possible or I use iccworld, I just don't trust the post office to deliver in my area. As for a percentage you will have to look online, then you have to add this cess that cess other taxes (can't figure it out myself!) like I said it's all hit and miss. Sometimes they will only charge a small amount of duty and other times nothing. I probably haven't helped at all! I find the system too confusing, bottom line small packages shouldn't be too much problem, the sender needs to mark it as a gift and declare the contents and value.

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Finally have decided on the following JACKET & GLOVES with available size.

                  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/34754/CITEM/Shift-Racing-Triton-Storm-Series-Jacket-Closeouts.aspx

                  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/37/34763/CITEM/Shift-Racing-Fury-Gloves-Closeouts.aspx

Honestly I need to buy by today so that it gets shipped by next week.
Since my friend is returning from US around 15-May-2011.

Both are Medium Sized for me with 5'10'' height and around 78 kilos weight.

Maintaining the budget & selecting a size is one of the difficult jobs.

                  Jackets 120 USD & Gloves 40 USD.

Hope the deal is decent enough. Friends pour your hearts very fast.

As an alternative spotted this below mentioned Jacket too.
Though A-Star but sizing reviews are real dicey.

And i am confused between DSG MAZE and CRAMSTER BREEZER 4.0
and the main problem with maze is that its Not-water proof.
is there any other JUGAAD that can be done on DSG maze to make it water proof..

I use a Rjay's Swift Jacket. Complete mesh and it is wonderful but still almost unusable in the summer's in Mumbai. But for rains (I bought it in the rainy season) I bought a 5XL Raincoat to wear it over the jacket whenever it rains and it worked wonderfully all throughout keeping me dry .

Still figuring out how to use the Rjays in the summer. Will have to probably change clothes when I get back home!

You need to remove the detachable waterproof inner liner provided in the RJays Swift jacket before you use it in the summers. Once you get the inner liner off, the jacket becomes a 100% breathable jacket, almost like a net with armour on it. I'm sure if you follow these instructions, you will have no trouble in summers.

Also, if worn with the inner liner attached, the jacket is 100% waterproof, so there is absolutely no need to wear a raincoat over it.

Please get back to us after you address these issues.
