Yes Sir, I am aware of that and I don't wish to ride on a rainy day either even if I have rain filled rides there are some useful replacements anyways thanks for your word

    • Anything about the DSG revive's leather in rains? I don't mind my hand becoming wet, but I have seen colour from gloves getting on the hand.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

I guess a couple of pages back the dsg guy mentioned that the dsg revive/primal which are made of 100% fine grain leather can get spoiled in rain because water can spoil leather, so i guess its better is you remove them during rains....

no dude!! the assessment wasn't made on looks alone...i tried both octane and swift and liked octane the most...but then i felt it was very overpriced for my budget....Swift felt flimsy (very personal opinion...and not meant to counter argue)...nero was snug...protectors were good...build quality was better...and most imp...has CE protectors whereas Swift doesn't!!...

Another reason i didn't go for octane is i felt i could buy a better international jacket from US for much lesser price...so for the time being...got nero and am more than satisfied...Did heavy rain test today while coming back from office....except lower body...i was dry everywhere else!!
It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed :)

            • Could anyone suggest me what would be an ideal pair of gloves for a place like Chennai? Nothing too costly
I have been here just a little while so something that is comfortable in high humidity, don't know what happens in rainy season, its not rained many times uptill now but when its poured it has been crazy then.
(would appreciate if someone from Chennai answers)

If cost is the primary consideration, then your choices are few. For the climate, go for a mesh/cordura upper and leather palms for better protection. A good pair should set you back between 1000-1500 bucks.

These will not do during the rains but your budget will not allow a multi-purpose glove.

So just started the thread to discuss queries regarding the availability of various biking apparels & riding gears especially in Kolkata, as there are hardly branded shops & familiar places in Kolkata where we can get dependable & original products that are within our BUDGET that we need for OUR's............. only SINGLE PASSION i.e, BIKING.

                          • Has anyone ordered riding gears from Riders discount in recent times? Their sales representative says that orders are no more sent as 'gifts'! Does that mean if I buy something from them then I have to pay custom duties as well? Anyone got any idea..

That's correct, I'm afraid. Someone I know bought a helmet for about 9K and ended up with 45% duty on the helmet. He had to cough up as the item was held up by Customs for 5 days.

This happened just a week ago.

Thank you for telling me this.I would have been looted otherwise.I was about to finalize the deal but thank god for whatever reasons I didn't.

So,now my dreams of getting a JR or Icon are shattered, seems DSG or RJays is the way.
