  • @Wilson: Nice choice bro...

I was bidding for an A* T-Dyno on ebay US yesterday. The bid was hot, untill I got out-bid by $1. Damn that user!! He took the booty for just $58. The jacket worth $170 was coming to me for $90, including shipping. Now have to wait to get a new one from US.

    • Gloves or Jacket??

Ok i just landed myself a decent sum of money from my parents, i was thinking about doing something for my bike but as i came across this thread i thought it would be better if i invest in some gear as well, my dilemna is however is between a riding jacket and riding gloves, mostly i'm going to be riding in the city only (to and fro college) and highway trips have come down significantly compared to earlier, however these are my preferences

      Jacket:
      1. Light-weight probably the summer riding jacket for better ventilation
      2. Should be padded elbows, back and shoulders
      3. Within 3K, i know it sounds a bit low, but i'm not bothered about the brand as long as it serves the above criteria

      Gloves:
      1. Gauntlet stlye, should cover my wrists as well
      2. Padded and should have knuckle reinforcements
      3. Rs.1000~1200/-
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

      • If u know someone who might be coming down to india and who could oblige u, then u can buy this :

Teknic Supervent Mesh Motorcycle Jacket :: New Enough, LTD

It would fit ur budget very well, and still some more to spare for an inexpensive pair of gloves too.

Dude! You should really consider waiting for a bit and checking out the stuff from cramster before you go for a jacket. Dollars and Pounds sells ORIGINAL cramster gear, but the price tag is a bit on the higher side. You can get mesh jackets for about 5k. Padded once are just around 500-1k extra. I got myself a decent jacket for 6k. I'll show you at the g2g.

You could also try checking out the DSG Nero jacket. The price is upped now, to 5250, but there are a few people here who want to go for the jackets. From chennai itself. Ask around, and you guys decide what's the quantity. DSG does offer reductions for mass orders, AND it could even reduce the cost of shipping on a per person basis. Don't rush into things just yet.

As for the gauntlet style gloves, you should really consider the ones that DSG offers. You get armortek gloves for about 1200, and it's really good. You can ship it. Shipping charges are extra. But it's worth the money. The product is delivered within 15 odd days.

          • As of now i think i'll settle with either Cramster or DSG as they quote reasonable prices, and i think i might buy the Gloves now and go in for the Jacket later, i'm really tempted to go i for a "chinese" Alpinestar gloves at the Dollars and Pounds outlet, eventhough it does'nt have the Alpinestars quality, it is pretty good for 1000 big ones

The Mesh jacket cost 4.5k and the gloves 1.1k.. its been through close to 3 long trips and has served very well. never too heavy and never too hot. It is perforated and easy to notice in the night since it has scotchlite material from 3M (i think)..

And ofcourse the attention it draws at every signal is a given
Finally! All these days I wondering why people aren't posting about cramster mesh jackets and here you are

Let me remind you and for the benefit of all that Cramster pants are NOT waterproof. A couple of older ones that I have seen were just plain defective. A couple of more recent ones that I saw had a Mesh lining around the jewelery area meant for keeping things "cool". There was no waterproof lining around that area and your innerwear DO get wet.

This is what I have gathered after seeing the Cramster riding pants.
