Whereas Swift fits all your three points. Though Swift has a rain liner, it won't protect you from heavy rains.

DSG Maze has leather construction on some parts. You may have to take care of the Leather while washing/cleaning the jacket. Also the site says that it has a warm quilted liner but nowhere mentions a rain liner.Originally posted by maverick180 View Post

Need some suggestions on buying a jacket.
My requirements are :
1. Mesh Jacket
2. Water Resistant/Liner would also do
3. Budget is 6k
I shortlisted the DSG Maze and the RJays Swift.
Would appreciate your advice on which one would be better. Any other suggestions are also welcome.
Thanks in advance!!!
I have been using the DSG Maze for over 2 years now. I am very happy with my Maze.
[1] It fits very well
[2] Is very airy and comfortable even in hot weather (due to its mesh construction)
[3] Looks smart thanks to its leather construction (at the shoulders) and due to its proper fit
But the Maze should not be used in the rain due to its leather and mesh contruction (even with the inner liner). Anyway, if you are looking for a mesh jacket, then it will never be good in the rains even with an iner liner.

Oh ok. You have many options with JR textile. I then suggest you try them on and pick up the one that fits you best!Originally posted by Nio View PostI already have a Cramster Pulse and having used a textile jacket for long I prefer it to mesh jackets. Also with proper ventilation I don't think that would be a problem. Now need a proper brand and a good textile jacket. That's why asked about this particular Jacket.
+1. I am buying this jacket once its available.Originally posted by payeng View PostI have been using the DSG Maze for over 2 years now. I am very happy with my Maze.

Strech the budget to 7.5k and go for RJays Octane (if possible). I am using it for last 8-10 months & 18000 kms. Very happy with it. nothing beats its ventilation. Though the rain liner will not protect you from Heavy Rains. It has better armour than RJays Swift. DSG Maze has leather around shoulder area. So using it in rains or washing it is bit no-no for the leather. else a very good jacket.Originally posted by maverick180 View PostHello Guys,

I too have got myself Rjays Octane around 4 months back. The ventilation is awesome. Also the rain liner is good, though not best. (When compared with Rjays Swift). I am using it for everyday commuting too....

Some feedback of the gears that I have used everyday for the last 5 months nearly.
LS2 full black(Matte)
Pros:
1, fantastic at high speeds. comfortable. (have tried up-to speeds of 185kmph)
2, Sound reduction is good. Sometimes I feel like driving a car(with lid closed), I hear only my bike roar underneath and no feel of air hitting your face.
3, Comfortable fit.
4, Visor looks are like chrome tinted. But really does a good job while riding in the night with the lid closed. Not equal to plain eye vision, however much better than the tinted/colored visors I have used.
Cons:
1, I sweat like a pig everyday while reaching office(22 kms in absolutely thick traffic). I am not sure how many liters of water I loose before I reach office. Not at all comfortable riding in city traffic with the lid down.
2, Bit heavier. However, Not more or un-manageable.
Verdict: Very Good
Cramster TRG2 gloves(full gauntlet)
Pros:
1, Perfect Fit.
2, Very comfortable.
3, full-gauntlet gives a sort of safety feel.
Cons:
1, Full gauntlet is difficult to wear and remove often.
2, not rainproof. (However it was not mentioned as rain proof)
Verdict: Excellent
RJays Octane mesh jacket
Pros:
1, Fantastic ventilation. Handles chennai heat very well
2, Good fit
3, Rain liner does its job very well.
4, Finishing/quality is high
Cons:
None.
Verdict: Outstanding. When I started searching for a jacket my budget was only 5k. After lot of search, I went on spending additional 3k for the jacket when I didn't have that money. But now I feel it was a very good decision and surely Octane is a VFM product.Last edited by men_in_jean; 10-14-2011, 03:21 PM.MJ

I also have an LS2 and been using it for 1.6 months and it has become very noisy above 130km/hr.Originally posted by men_in_jean View Post^^ Don't recollect the model number. It is the same as what is in the album

I did not see any difference in the padding and built of the helmet that you have mentioned and the LS2 dull dragon that i have.
I think the difference in the graphic.

I hear noise after 160kmph.. But on NH7 once I was riding, there was huge noise after crossing 120kmph itself. But it did not come while returning back on the same roads.. So I think it has got to do something with the wind direction and force that is their at that time.
May be after an year and half I might also have the same issues!!
Lets see..
comments from anyone else??MJ

I got myself a Sparx Freeborn last year just for touring and it was very good in terms of sound insulation. Now after almost a year, those properties are waning... not drastically, but definitely. And again, this is noticeable only at high speeds or very windy places. Guess with usage it happens. But I'm not worried..

How important is it to match brands when it comes to jacket + pants?
i plan to buy the DSG Maze and was wondering if i could use JR or RJay's pants with it. The jacket isn't available currently, thought i'll get the pants first. But read somewhere of a possible mismatch.Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!
